Back on the memory leak issue, r27858 does not have it, I tried upgrading to r29621 (which had leak), now gone back to r29519 which seems fine (So far r29519 is my most stable build).
Can I just upgrade to the Kong build from r29519 using the mtd write commands as with other builds? I would like to give Kong build a try.

Yes. I flash to supperhacky first before anything. So far I have found Kong stable. _________________ WRT-54G V6 & V8 - wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin

Updated with 4 new questions. Can someone post a link to tomato for this router? _________________ WRT-54G V6 & V8 - wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin

I was able to install this copy of Tomato just fine (using WinSCP + puTTY). I left Koolshare CFE installed as before.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy does Tomato have a beautiful looking GUI! It crushes DD-WRT for clarity and usability! A lot of features in common with DD-WRT seem more complete. I have a WRT54G somewhere with an older version of Tomato, and boy has it really developed!
Here is my final speedtest on the Linksys EA6300V1 running DD-WRT r29968. This is weird, since this is by far the fastest I've seen DD-WRT on this router:
Download 418.68Mb/s Upload 540.63Mb/s
http://speedtest.net/my-result/5434123160
And once again after overclocking to 1200, enabling jumbo frames and disabling every possible service I could find including Tomato's famous logging, monitoring and graphing:
Download 332.92Mb/s Upload 451.66Mb/s
http://speedtest.net/my-result/5434197154
...and going back to DD-WRT r29968:
Download 431.52Mb/s Upload 546.97Mb/s
Which is even slightly better than before I tried Tomato.
I have to say, if I wasn't looking for the best performance on my Google Gigabit Fiber connection, and my service tier was 250Mbps or less, I would seriously think about making Tomato my new favorite firmware!
Please tell me how well Tomato worked for you, and what your speedtest.net scores were over hardwired Ethernet! _________________ Linksys EA6300V1 DD-WRT r29968 || Netgear WNDR3700 DD-WRT r29968

So I put DD-WRT r29968 back on the router. This is what earlier cured that nasty memory leak leading to certain death in 3 hours. Well guess what's back? Yes. And it's progressing at exactly the same speed. This router WAS stable with that firmware for 3-4 days. The "Free memory" didn't move one tiny bit. Now it's marching right across the screen toward 0. I don't see any memory info in TOP, btw. Do I need to turn it on somehow? _________________ Linksys EA6300V1 DD-WRT r29968 || Netgear WNDR3700 DD-WRT r29968

Ok, some more deets which I'm actually in the middle of collecting info about:
Running r28846, the Linksys EA6300v1 locked up between 2:50 and 3:00 uptime. This is whether or not I had the admin web pages open or not.
After flashing r29968, the router ran fine for 3 days. The Status|Router tab was left open many hours at a time, and I only saw Available Memory drop from 75% to 74% in all that time. The router was under load while I was awake (streaming youtube) and idle while I slept.
Three days it worked great.
Then I put Tomato on it for a few hours, and then put build r29968 back on. In both cases, firmware was flashed to linux2 first, then linux, then nvram erased. My router should be in an identical state now, as before.
Instead, it has the memory leak again (!!) and, it proceeds at the same rate, as long as I have the Status|Router open on the screen.
Last night, I went to bed when the router was at just about 50% free. I left the router on. When I got back to the router 10 hrs later, it miraculously hadn't locked up yet, and still showed 48% free! Is this memory leak associated with the web server displaying a self-refreshing page?
Maybe. Not today, though. I just started over with a reboot and automated screen captures. I experimented with closing the browser for a half hour, and when I re-opened it, the free memory has continued to deflate.
Logging is off. Traf monitoring is off. every little un-needed dealie I can find has been disabled. Just as I'd done during the 3 good days. Can anyone think of something I should check? _________________ Linksys EA6300V1 DD-WRT r29968 || Netgear WNDR3700 DD-WRT r29968

I will stick to Kong for a while. May try going back to the other builds if that above mentioned script fixes the memory leak. Can anybody confirm?
The script is for nvram cleanup. Have not gotten any memory leaks on 30016, but did not try all the <30000 builds recently. _________________ How to EA6400:
