I followed all the steps on: http://gravitynet.co.nf/index.php/ea6400/installation-guide and after step 3.6 where you unplug and hold the wps button, i cant connect to my router anymore. My password is not working???

I set the default passphrase in the cfe file to "admin"? was that a stupid mistake due to minimum password length requirements?

EDIT: lmao for people doing this via wifi make your your passwords is long enough for wpa, i just connected via ethernet and all is good now

Guys, I'm unable to install the mini-hack on my EA6300V1. It gives me successful message and after restart old / Original OS is still installed.

I tried to install it using TFTP and after successful loading Router keeps restarting and when I loaded the old OS again I found that router didn't lose the configuration Confused !!!
DO you have any idea?

Note : I used to have DDWRT before on the same router and suddenly it kept restarting so I installed the Original OS back again and when I tried to install the DDWRT back again I faced the above...

flash twice to ensure both partitions get flashed?

I did the recommended action but router kept restarting for almost 2 hours. When I loaded the original OS , Configuration was not removed.. It seems that router is not accepting the new OS Sad

Hi all. Im owner of ea6300v1. I used dd wrt small image to flash dd-wrt build into ea6300v1 on both linux and linux2 partitions. All worked well. Now i upgrade it on 30604 build. After flashig router boot twice, but not booting after restart.

By using ardui i get access to the serical console.
There all ok, dd wrt boots normal. I even can login into my user and password. But no: vlans, usb and wi-fi. So i think that CFE of my router bricked after hard reset 30/30/30. I have backup of my original CFE but can't upload it throught serical cable. I did try Xmodem, but nothing.

Can anyone give me advice ? thx

I installed dd-wrt beta, and had partition linux2.

After flash mod kongac, disappeared linux2

Code:

Hi,

I have flashed my EA6300V1 with v3.0-r30681(09/22/16).

It all seems to have worked ok and everything seems to work (WAN,LAN,Wireless).

However, whenever I try to create a Bridge on the Setup>Networking page, any IP and Subnet Mask information I enter seems to get lost when I Save or Apply Settings.

I have then tried entering the information both in the Create Bridge and the Port Setup section after the bridge is created, then Saving/Apply Settings, but that also doesn't work.

I have tried assigning the appropriate interface (eth1) to the Bridge and then adding the IP information(both places), but that doesn't work either.

I've got the same problem when I try to create VLANs - IP+Mask information is not saved.

Is this information written to file, or is it stored in NVRAM ?

I'm at a loss to know where to go with this, any help would be appreciated.

I have also tried :-

I have been trying to work through most of the relevant tutorials from here

The problem is they won't save the IP range and subnet masks.


The only one I haven't tried is the non-GUI one here

Is the non-GUI approach the only way it will work ?

I successfully installed DD-WRT on Linksys EA6400 (Q87-EA6400) - tried two firmware versions: r29396 std and the latest one: r30709 but still I have a problem with Wi-Fi performance. On stock firmware speed of AC wireless is about 867Mb/s, on DD-WRT max what I have is: 400Mb/s (the same client - macbook air 2015).

I spent all day for searching about it and tried to fix it by myself. I don't have any idea, if I did it wrong, or it is a problem with DD-WRT and this router?

Ok, finally I found the solution!

Most important thing is configure a wireless settings in the correct order. I reset dd-wrt settings to factory defaults, then followed this tutorial:

Only one option to tweak is channel number. After that I have full speed rate on 5GHz radio - 1300Mb/s, and 867Mb/s using client (MBA).

I think it useful to other new users of DD-WRT Smile

I've been running Kong on my ea6300 v1 for a couple of months with no issues until today. Today I tried to configure vpn client on the router, testing different settings. At one point I noticed that my internet connection had become unstable and I shut my router off and then on again. Now it doesn't seem to boot and it doesn't respond to the reset button. What happened? How do I reset or make it boot?

I found a lot ppl saying they follow the flashing instruction but encountered problem after power cycle rebooting.

I got the same situation and found if you got message like "unable to unlock mtd0" in any step of your flashing procedure, something eventually will have problem although the full ddwrt firmware does get written into the router.

I tried to start over and finally avoided these msg and now my router is running smoothly in bridge mode through 5GHz and USB/NAS enabled for a few days and no problem of power cycle rebooting.
