Guys, I'm unable to install the mini-hack on my EA6300V1. It gives me successful message and after restart old / Original OS is still installed.
I tried to install it using TFTP and after successful loading Router keeps restarting and when I loaded the old OS again I found that router didn't lose the configuration !!!
DO you have any idea?
Note : I used to have DDWRT before on the same router and suddenly it kept restarting so I installed the Original OS back again and when I tried to install the DDWRT back again I faced the above...

I did the recommended action but router kept restarting for almost 2 hours. When I loaded the original OS , Configuration was not removed.. It seems that router is not accepting the new OS
Hi all. Im owner of ea6300v1. I used dd wrt small image to flash dd-wrt build into ea6300v1 on both linux and linux2 partitions. All worked well. Now i upgrade it on 30604 build. After flashig router boot twice, but not booting after restart.
By using ardui i get access to the serical console.
There all ok, dd wrt boots normal. I even can login into my user and password. But no: vlans, usb and wi-fi. So i think that CFE of my router bricked after hard reset 30/30/30. I have backup of my original CFE but can't upload it throught serical cable. I did try Xmodem, but nothing.

Hi,
I have flashed my EA6300V1 with v3.0-r30681(09/22/16).
It all seems to have worked ok and everything seems to work (WAN,LAN,Wireless).
However, whenever I try to create a Bridge on the Setup>Networking page, any IP and Subnet Mask information I enter seems to get lost when I Save or Apply Settings.
I have then tried entering the information both in the Create Bridge and the Port Setup section after the bridge is created, then Saving/Apply Settings, but that also doesn't work.
I have tried assigning the appropriate interface (eth1) to the Bridge and then adding the IP information(both places), but that doesn't work either.
I've got the same problem when I try to create VLANs - IP+Mask information is not saved.
Is this information written to file, or is it stored in NVRAM ?
I'm at a loss to know where to go with this, any help would be appreciated.
I successfully installed DD-WRT on Linksys EA6400 (Q87-EA6400) - tried two firmware versions: r29396 std and the latest one: r30709 but still I have a problem with Wi-Fi performance. On stock firmware speed of AC wireless is about 867Mb/s, on DD-WRT max what I have is: 400Mb/s (the same client - macbook air 2015).
I am focused on: MCS: 0-9, because on stock firmware I has mcs index = 12 (867Mb/s).
Here's screen:
I have tried change channels, widths and extensions of both vlans (2.4GHz & 5GHz) with no success. Have any one any idea what i am doing wrong? I spent all day for searching about it and tried to fix it by myself. I don't have any idea, if I did it wrong, or it is a problem with DD-WRT and this router?

I've been running Kong on my ea6300 v1 for a couple of months with no issues until today. Today I tried to configure vpn client on the router, testing different settings. At one point I noticed that my internet connection had become unstable and I shut my router off and then on again. Now it doesn't seem to boot and it doesn't respond to the reset button. What happened? How do I reset or make it boot?
I found a lot ppl saying they follow the flashing instruction but encountered problem after power cycle rebooting.
I got the same situation and found if you got message like "unable to unlock mtd0" in any step of your flashing procedure, something eventually will have problem although the full ddwrt firmware does get written into the router.
I tried to start over and finally avoided these msg and now my router is running smoothly in bridge mode through 5GHz and USB/NAS enabled for a few days and no problem of power cycle rebooting.
According to the koolshare threads, the firmware's starting from X7.0 and above; we can disable the asus features like aicloud, usb applications, traditional qos.
