I recently flashed a Cisco/Linksys E4200 to DD-WRT by following the instructions on it's specific page. I was trying to tinker with it and set it up to be a NAS device but did not see the "USB" section under services. So I upgraded it to dd-wrt.v24-40559_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200 and it was successful but when it rebooted, I cannot access the webgui. I can ping it successfully at 192.168.1.1, but the gui won't load and all telnet/ssh sessions refuse connection. I did not perform any other type of resets yet. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks!

I presume you used the router database. Do not use the router database, it is inaccurate and will land you right in the middle of where you are at right now. That being said, you can tftp flash it to a newer build and then go from there. That router doesn't require a 30/30/30 reset, necessarily. You can just depress and hold it for 10 seconds or so until the ethernet switch lights all light up solid and go from there after it reboots.

Thanks.Yes I used the router DB. So am I just doing a push of the reset button or do I need to do the tftp flash?

I would try resetting first to see if 40559 will come up for you, but otherwise, I would suggest flashing today's build. Lots of fixes and patches since 40559, and that build was kind of garbage, anyway.

Thanks. It came up after the reset. Can I perform a normal firmware upgrade to get it to the latest? Will I lose any configured settings that way?

Upgrade via webUI, but do not select reset to defaults after flashing. Should be a-OK.

Any ideas what android app works best for accessing the dd-wrt NAS share to view pictures or play videos?

No idea. I don't use any of my routers as media servers.

Is there a miniDlna package for this router? I don't see it under services in the router.

I don't have your router, but it should be under Services -> NAS.

No, a lot of things that were on the K2.6 builds didn't get carried over to the K3.x builds because of the firmware image size and because BrainSlayer has yet to make a config for 16MB flash devices. I'm not even 100% sure it's still in the K2.6 builds, to be honest.

There is no more miniDLNA (aka Mediaserver) in K3.x for the E4200 V1 device.
However, if you youe it as a NAS, you shoud be fine.
I'll use vlc on android devices to access my NAS-shares (video-playback) on my router.
