I just had one of the earlier 2019 builds (can't remember the rev) and the latest (39031) crash on my 880L.
The problem seemingly came out of nowhere, seemed to be working fine for while but then would present as the router not responding (no HTTP no wifi). Rebooting it would get it up and running for like 20-30 minutes until it died again.
I upgraded to 39031 figuring there might be a patch, but no luck. Problem didn't go away.
I also factory reset the device via the admin portal after upgrading to 39031. Still no dice.
Downgraded back to 30342 which my other 880L has been running for over a year and now it's back up and running without problems.
Since 04/2019, on my 880L A2, I've been running BS r39654 stabley as an AP with wifi 5 and 2.4ghz broadcasting seperate ssid, openvpn with PBR, adguard dns, daily reboots at 5am.
I can confirm that bridge VAP does not work on this version including the various workarounds on the forum. However, unbridge VAP works.
Bridged VAP is still broken in latest version and has been broken since mid 2018 versions. The unbridge VAP instruction below also works on latest versions.
my router ip is 192.168.1.1
To get unbridge VAP to work,
Add VAP. note the interface id should be some thing like this "Virtual Interfaces wl1.1 SSID[..." in this case, wl1.1 is the interface id.
set VAP to unbridged
set VAP ip address to 192.168.2.100 or whatever you want
set VAP subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
Then apply settings. If you save but dont apply settings, the VAP interface will not show up under DHCP Server steps below.
Then go to Setup -> Networking
Go to the bottom of the page where it says "Multiple DHCP Server"
Click "add".
Change br0 to VAP interface id.
Apply setting and Reboot
repeat for all VAPs. Each VAP ip address needs to be different. Personally, I just increment the third set of numbers 192.168.2.100, 192.168.3.100, 192.168.4.100, etc.
VAP should work.
Update 3/2020: I’ve been trying out more recent builds, I seem to have settled on the most recent build r42617. I also really liked builds 42174 and 42335.
There seems to be a high CPU temp issue, even at idle. Previous builds I’m getting temp range of 79-87. With build r42617, I’m getting ranges of 64-87

Thank you for bumping this topic. It has now been locked for historical reference purposes. These threads were started when the firmware support for these devices were just starting and never meant to be a one-stop-helpdesk-shop or otherwise. I do not see a 10-, 20-, 50-, 100-, or 200-page thread with discussion on one device being beneficial to the community. Please report successful flashes in the appropriate build threads; Please report bugs and issues with the firmware in the build threads; If you need configuration help or wish to discuss figuring out any issues, please open a new thread. Thank you for understanding. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
