I flashed the factory to ddwrt and started changing settings reboot it a couple of times until I overclocked it to 1600. now it turns on with an orange light and nothing happens I do not get any ping replies. I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get this expensive brick working again. any help is appreciated.

Serial recovery. Stop the cfe, type nvram erase and reboot.
What made you think to over clock it to 1.6ghz?

1.4ghz was working great, but since i was done setting it all up I wanted to see if 1600mhz was stable, apparently not, is there an in depth tutorial of what I need and how to perform it.

I've tried a couple of the style you linked and they never worked.

Maybe confirm it's COM4 in the device manager.

Where are you located? If you are willing to pay 2 way shipping I can give it a try.

I noticed when I had serial connected the router seemed to freeze when i turned it on. So I unpluged the ground cable turned it on and plugged it back in after I noticed the lights change past where it was stuck maybe .5 second to a second after I power it on. than I can see text scrolling on the window and hit ctrl-c. so I had A lot to do in under 2 seconds, It took someone helping me turn it on to catch it in time.

I also put a 50mm fan on the right side to bring the temperature down it looks nice, I found it in a slimline pc power supply, it plugged right into the serial power and ground so it's only running at 3.3 or 5v I am not sure.

Hi,

I have a Netgear R6700. I had installed DD-WRT on it. Recently I tried to install NEtgear original firmware but now its irresponsive. I can't access it anymore. Is there a way I can restore it and re-install DD-WRT?
