The power cycle after 30/30/30 is normal, it puts it in recovery mode. I flashed after that just fine with routers I just bought from Amazon.

what should i do?

Alright guys. Captain is here!

I had the same issue and after 2 days of trying now I have a solution for you.

1). Download old Linksys e1700 firmware v1.0.0.0.081 (FW_E1700_v1.0.00.081_20131220.bin). Here is a link: http://www.ctfile.com/file/71051625

2). Downgrade the firmware of your router to 1.0.0.0

3). Upgrade the firmware of your router with factory-to-ddwrt.bin from DD-WRT Router Database.

4). Congrats! You have installed DD-WRT.

@technik, thanks for the info, will help if I ever get a 1.0.01. Can you test your lan port #2 and see if it works?

Thanks

Unfortunately, not! I forgot to test it before the flashing, and it is not just #2. Ports are doing weird things. After reboot, they are stopping right after the firmware has been loaded, so I have to reboot again with unplugged cords and after power led stops flashing to plug them again in.

I am a bit disappointed of this router. The only good thing is the powerful Wi-Fi signal.

hmm, my Ports 1,3 and 4 work just fine, gigabit. And I tested my port 2 before I flashed and it was working. BrainSlayer forgot to configure the LAN ports on the E1700, so hopefully he will configure them soon in an update to get your ports working.

Edit: Your using router db 25251?

thanks, this does help re-install dd-wrt on my e1700.

i had flashed back the FW_E1700_v1.0.01.008_20141028.bin from dd-wrt, then i can't get back to dd-wrt, it always popup saying that "incorrect firmware file" at around 30%.

so, after downgrade the firmware back to FW_E1700_v1.0.00.081_20131220.bin, then only i can successfully install dd-wrt, again. thanks technik.

which firmware? FW_E1700_v1.0.01.008_20141028.bin?
it's located at www.linksys.com/my/support-article?articleNum=148502

oops, not sure if i misleading...
i meant i upgraded from an already install dd-wrt e1700...
hmmm... i reverted it from dd-wrt back to linksys but updated firmware (v1.0.01).

p/s once install dd-wrt, in order to revert back to linksys original firmware instead of dd-wrt, just press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds, then flash the linksys firmware at the "emergency firmware upgrade" page.

Cool thanks, I couldn't figure out how to revert back.

Do your lan ports work with dd wrt? I have two routers both with port no 2 not working. Technik says that none of his ports work.

yup, i flashed 3 linksys e1700, all port 2 seem like not working.

i used them as WDS.

for the "WAN Connection Type", i can't put "Disabled", else, all the ports can't access the router, but, if i use "wireless" connection, i can access the router.

Does that make port 2 work?

nope, "Disabled" WAN Connection make ports 1, 3, 4 also not working.

kk, let me know if you find a fix. I'll post here if a newer build fixes the problem.

Hi,

I recently got an e1700 router with stock firmware 1.0.0.1 installed,

I have been trying to install the latest DD-WRT firmware available,

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/07-06-2015-r27490/linksys_e1700/

but, I can only get to 39% before it claims its the wrong firmware.

I have looked to obtain earlier stock firmware to "roll back" but I have been unsuccessful thus far,

can anybody link me to place where I could obtain the earlier firmware for the e1700 so that I can flash DD-WRT onto the device.

Cancel my above request, I wasn't logged in so didn't see the download attachment in an earlier post, but I see it now since I've logged in to make the post Embarassed

off to do some flashing, fingers crossed it all works
