ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/10-06-2016-r30731/ is the latest firmware for my TL-WDR3600 ver. 1.5 that works well. It's working with all Wi-Fi devices on the network and there are no drops. The builds after 30731 have been problematic: horrible Wi-Fi latency, drops, and poor 5 GHz coverage.

confirming, seems this revision is one of the "latest best"

Someone ever seen the 5ghz led ON with dd-wrt?

r30731 still also have Dirty Cow Exploit.

It was patched by brainslayer about 8 days ago for 4.4 kernel. Awesome sauce!!

So you'll need if build with a higher number than this revision. Enjoy!

Not a real issue for me i'm behind firewall, i prefer to have a working router...hoping to get a good build soon

hardware firewall or router dd-wrt firewall?

checkpoint or cisco?

Also if is a simple firewall from a dd-wrt (dirtycow enabled) router how you can use this exploit with no listening port?

talking expecially to who is on 30731

after some hours (or days) of perfect uptime my router will start refusing all new wireless connections, what is needed to get it back to work is just click "apply" on wireless settings page ... what could be the issue? are you also experiencing it

ps. i have both radio in HT40 mode, using the 2.4 as WDS AP with another WDR3600 bridged as WDS Station

I've been having issues with the 5 GHz disappearing after a while, or when there's heavy traffic. I've tried v30880 and now tried downgrading to v30731 (after seeing the comments above) but unfortunately the problem still persists.

I'm also facing this issue, and i think that is an hardware failure that affects these routers, also readed about it somewere on OpenWRT Wiki

Had no problems with the stock firmware. Having problems with 5GHz on latest DD-WRT firmware. Haven't tried 2.4GHz. Downgraded to the 10-06-2016 firmware and will evaluate.

[Update] 10-06-2016 firmware appears to work fine.

Hi, i just want to share my dd-wrt experience:

I'm using a WDR3600 1.4 behind a HITRON cable modem managed by my ISP (KabelDeutschland / Vodafone in Germany).

After running a year the stock firmware version TL-WDR3600_V1_150518 I wanted to try a open firmware.

After reading a lot of feedback from the forum this is my personal summary for the WDR3600:

v24 PreSP2 21061 2013-04-24 recommendation from dd-wrt.com
v24 PreSP2 22118 2013-07-24 recommendation from this thread
v24 PreSP2 24461 2014-06-23 should also be very stable
v24 PreSP2 25697 2014-12-22 stable too
v24 beta 27858 2015-09-28 stable
v24 beta 30731 2016-10-06 latest stable release

In the end I decided to use v24 PreSP2 24461 2014-06-23. Installation via Webinterface using the Wiki here was without any problems.

The configuration was also very easy for me: I've connected my PC via cable, mobile phones via the 2.4G wlan and the Amazon HDMI Stick for Prime Video and Netflix via 5G wlan.

After one weekend with heavy usage- no problems at all. Everything works fine Smile

Best regards!

Hey datenzentrale,

Thanks a lot for your summary!
Could you please confirm everything's still working fine with this firmware?

Cheers!

Hi!

I'm new here.

I just installed 31924 on my TL-WDR4300 and everything worked really well out of the box.

My main purpose installing dd-wrt is security and better WiFi signal.

It's now time to learn how to better configure the router.

Thanks! Very Happy

Hey there!

Installed build 31924 on my WDR3600. No problems after 1 day.
I'll test for a week and post the results here.

Hi there,
I can't seem to be able to find this build in the ftp. All I see is 31899 and then 32170. (See attached)

Where did you get this build from?

Chiming in here for first time in a long time.

(04/09/15) std - build 26653 - been running that for, well, 2+ years now.

Anyone try latest from 8/29?

Wondering if it's worth trying. Don't use the 5Ghz radio on this router.

So I figured it was about time to update my firmware and I'm confused because the version I currently have is 3 years old and is called v24-sp2 build 24461. I would expect to see a newer version available and the timestamp on the one listed the web site is dated only a month or two ago, but says it is version 24 pre SP2 beta, build 21061. Why does it appear to be even older than the 3 year old version I currently have?
