Hello all,

im at my wits end here, I have setup repeater bridge so many times with Linksys and Belkin routers.

To make a long story short

After I flashed my R7000 to Brainslayer's most recent version (02/27/15), only the bridged version of my router works, but not the repeater...it keeps saying that my wireless devices cannot connect.

I have done 30-30-30 resets up the wazoo and used this guide below for setting up the repeater bridge:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge

Is there a special setting that needs to be enabled for the wireless repeater function to work?

again, just to reiterate, when i plug devices via Cat5 to the switch ports of the R7000, they connect fine but when I try to connect via wireless, it always fails (and never worked)

I tried Kongs latest firmware with the same result, so im beginning to think that its a setting that im missing...

FWIW, 90 second hard resets dont work on arm-based routers like they did on any other platform. So reset by pressing the reset button, erasing nvram in the gui or (on some routers) holding the wps button on bootup.

I assume you looked at the broadcom section of the repeater bridge wiki? First, clear nvram on both units, dont use any backup configs, and configure both again.

If that still doesnt work, try a different build that is known to be solid (a recent version would be 26138, though airtime fairness is not enabled by default).

Be advised that Kong announced on his Personal Test Build thread that a reset IS required (if coming from BS build 26138 or earlier).

Kong Test Build users may want to read up to make an informed decision. Details on the "New Boadcom ARM driver ?" thread, HERE.

(Of course the official Peacock recommendation is a NVRAM reset before and after flashing.)

on your R7000 ARM unit telnet over and pass the following command at the cli

"nvram erase && reboot"

ps others are having issues too, see
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=953053

but the folks having done the nvram reset have reported very good performance after upgrades

good luck!

No problem...

Also that indicates a nvram reset from CLI (over telnet) was all you needed.... Or will need to upgrade further in the future

Good luck!
