Hi Guys,

Is there any reason why dd-wrt does not have the option to support Baby Jumbo Frames?

A lot of PPPoE connections support RFC 4638
- Accommodating a Maximum Transit Unit/Maximum Receive Unit (MTU/MRU) Greater Than 1492 in the
Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE).

Most support an MTU of 1508.

When you select PPPoE on dd-wrt it will not let you select a value higher than 1492 Sad

It would be great to have the option to enable an MTU of 1508 for PPPoE on the Wan Setup.

Would anyone else find this feature useful?

Further to this post, I have found I can set the mtu manually.

If you telnet/ssh into the router and type:-

ifconfig ppp0 mtu 1508 it will set a Baby Jumbo Frame on the PPPoE interface.

If you then run a tool like tcpoptimizer to check the largest mtu is goes from 1492 to 1500:)

I guess the support is already present and there is a need for an update on the GUI.

Is this possible?

Did you not need to change the MTU of the WAN and VLAN interfaces too?
