Hello,
I have a problem with an old laptop.
the laptop: 'Toshiba satellite Pro L350'.
My router is Asus RT-AC68U with Firmware:DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/23/15) std.
I have a nas Synology with DHCP server which give the ip to my home network, I use this DHCP because I have a PXE server on it.
All my local network is ok:
my computers, tablets, phones receive ip from the nas and can ping and acces the router and internet... no problem
my problem is with the laptop:
I test ethernet and wifi, same problem, the ip is ok by the nas, I can ping my nas and other devices in my network (computers etc...) I can access to my nas folders... so my Lan is ok. All is good...
But this laptop can't ping the gateway (ip router 192.168.1.1) and can't go to internet (no internet access)... Wan KO.
I test this laptop with an other router and it works ethernet and wifi, internet Wan OK...
so, I think I have done something wrong with the settings DDWRT but it's just for this laptop... ?!
I know it's incredible.
I look for the ip, netmask, gateway... all the same as my desktop computer (ip different but it's in 192.168.1.***)
I try to flushdns
Code:
arp -d *
nbtstat -R
ipconfig /flushdns
reboot
same... Lan Ok, Wan KO
I also try to boot in PXE with a linux mint, Lan Ok and Wan KO with ethernet and wifi too... can't ping/access the router. same as windows.
It's not your ddwrt router. Perhaps your laptop isn't set to be auto ip and auto DNS. Perhaps you have limited your leases in your dhcp server. Could be lots of things, but it is most unlikely to be your ddwrt router. Put stock firmware back on and test. _________________ SIG:

Test the laptop to ping the gateway "ping 192.168.1.1":
- sometimes it works and I have internet:
Quote:
Envoi d'une requête 'Ping' 192.168.1.1 avec 32 octets de données :
Réponse de 192.168.1.1 : octets=32 temps=3 ms TTL=64
Réponse de 192.168.1.1 : octets=32 temps=3 ms TTL=64
Réponse de 192.168.1.1 : octets=32 temps=3 ms TTL=64
Réponse de 192.168.1.1 : octets=32 temps=3 ms TTL=64
- most of time, it don't work (whitout moving the laptop, whithout doing anything, always at 5 meters from the router):
Quote:
Envoi d'une requête 'Ping' 192.168.1.1 avec 32 octets de données :
Délai d'attente de la demande dépassé.
Délai d'attente de la demande dépassé.
Délai d'attente de la demande dépassé.
Délai d'attente de la demande dépassé.
When I can't ping gateway, I don't have internet but I can access my other Lan device (example SERVNAS) as I've sayed...
This problem is with wifi and ethernet too on the laptop... try windows and linux, same problem. I also try to disable the windows firewall to test but same...
I have no idea why it works sometimes and don't work most of time.
