Nothing major, but it's been bugging me for a while now and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Currently on v3.0-r32597 for Archer C9 v2, and no matter what I try (resetting, trying different ports, different devices, browsing the settings) I can't get the Ethernet LAN LED to light up when a cable is plugged in. I'm getting an internet connection through the cable and dd-wrt is showing that the port is active, but the light just won't come on. All of the other LEDs are fine, and prior to flashing dd-wrt the Ethernet light did indeed used to work, so perhaps this could be a little bug that needs ironing out? Or am I just missing something really obvious?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just updated to DD-WRT v3.0-r32597 std (07/08/17) on my Archer C9 v1.0 and it seems fine.

For what it's worth my LAN light is also off, but I honestly don't know if it was working before or not.

I've been using DD-WRT firmware on my routers for a long time. Earlier this year I upgraded to the TP-Link Archer c9. I was just tinkering around with the overclocking feature. Is there any actual benefit to this? I bumped it up one notch to 1200 and my temps have remained pretty much the same. Thanks!

FYI: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r31924 std (05/02/17)

Can I ask what CPU loads you were getting beforehand on that build and if you run Openvpn on it?

Hello,

Has anyone been successful in flashing the Canadian version of TP-LINK C1900? I tried the latest from the betas directory, and I received the '5533' error. If so, please advise.

I have been unable to flash my new black AC1900 "high-power" V1 hardware to dd-wrt. It is a CA (Canadian). The back of the unit states V1 hardware, as does the firmware update page. It's presently running tp-links 20160201-rel42677.

I reset the router to factory defaults and flashed the using the factory-to-ddwrt.bin

I first tried flashing r30880 (11-14-2016) since this had a lot of positive feedback. Got error -5533

I then tried r29409 (4/5/2016) also got error -5533

I then decided to try a build f31899 4/24/2017 as well as the most recent build.

In all cases the firmware uploads fine and immediately gets error code -5533

I read about TP locking the firmware but everything recent states that this was only done for a short time and that they now allow users to flash dd-wrt. They even mention dd-wrt on their firmware update page.

So, not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm using the beta versions for tp-link ac19000 and uploading the factory-to-ddwrt.bin file.

I have a US Version of the TP Link Archer C9 v1 (AC900) and it also won't upgrade -- the stock firmware from factory is this one: Archer C900(US)_V1_161130

It just gives a generic could not upgrade firmware from the TP-Link interface. It does the same with older TP Link firmware too.

I've tried about 15 DD-WRT versions up until the most recent and no such luck.

Does anybody have any ideas?

I'm curious was speeds everyone is getting over OpenVPN, if the R7000 is capable of 70mbs with the right setup then the ArcherC9 should get near that too since it seems to have pretty much the same chipset. Has anyone managed to get similar speeds out of this router?

I barely get 30mbs, connecting to the same vpn via windows client gets 100mbs on most servers.

I installed the dd-wrt about 1 week and i really liked the firmware, following instructions posted by the-thinkpad-guy i was have sucess on the process (thanks for that), but the transmission service was not showable to me on webgui, i've search on this forum and everybody says it's already on newer versions but i updated to r32597 and keeps showing nothing. There's something to do before?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I seem to have an issue where the 5GHz wireless seems to disappear after around 22 hours of the router being on.

I can't find the 5GHz signal on my phone laptop etc and the wl1 option on router settings is completely gone.

Last settings it did it in was AC mode with WPA2 EAS, 40MHz bandwidth mode but have tried leaving it at the default DD WRT settings and still does the same thing.

Not quite sure why the 5GHz signal disappears after nearly a day, rather frustrating having to reset the router every time this happens Mad

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

What channel do you use? Don't use auto. Also use n/ac mixed.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I think I set it to 52+56 IIRC. Okay I shall try N/AC and see how it goes.

Not sure if any other settings need changed from the default values?

Any one else having issues with OpenVPN on 2017 firmware? I've flashed pretty much all of the firmwares dated 2017 (>r30880) and when I do, ebtables peeks at 50% cpu and the connection never starts. The OpenVPN status page is also blank.

I have the Archer C9 v1

Currently trying to get r33375 to work with OpenVPN client, but no success thus far. It's connecting to a remote OpenVPN server (Netgear r7500 v2 which is also running 33375 no problem - OpenVPN server starts and clients can connect like my Mac and Windows Machines). When my Archer C9 v1 is on firmware r30880 it connects perfectly, but anything newer results in ebtables high cpu. The Open VPN server never sees the connection according to the logs.

This is what the log is saying, which seems to go through the process just fine.

Think i may have figured something out. I think it's a time sync issue. Upon bootup OpenVPN client is starting before the time sync is happening (probably before WAN is up?) so it fails to verify the certificate. If I start the router up with OpenVPN client disabled, then login to the router once booted and enable it, OpenVPN client successfully connects.

Running r33375 with this workaround. Everything seems to be working great. Wifi is fast, internet is snappy. Get my full 250Mbps down and 10Mbps up.

I even have my Guest VLAN and Guest SSID working and route only to the internet. Happy camper.

PostPosted: Sun Sep 24, 2017 16:03    Post subject: 5Ghz setting GUI missing Reply with quote
I recently installed dd-wrt (v3.0-r33342) on my TP-Link Archer C9 (v1) and it seems to be working great so far. However, one oddity is that after adding a "Virtual Interface" to my 2.4ghz wireless (for a guest network), I can't seem to find the settings for my 5ghz wireless. It's working - shows up as a wireless network and I can join it ok - but the GUI isn't showing up anywhere in the DD-WRT admin interface afaict. It seems to me that prior to adding the virtual Interface, the 5ghz settings showed up at bottom of the Wireless > Basic settings page, but now it's gone.

Anyone seen this and have idea what's wrong? I've searched the forums and haven't found anything along these lines. Apologies in advance if I'm overlooking something obvious or have missed a thread covering this issue.

Later edit: OK, I rebooted the router and it's showing back up again. Still odd that this happened and if anyone else has experienced it, I'd like to hear about it.

BTW, if I should have posted this somewhere else (perhaps as separate thread), let me know. Thanks!

Hello,
Everyone with knowledge of dd-wrt please give me advice
Please forgive me for using automatic translation.

In c9 v3 I will challenge dd-wrt after 3 weeks.

I also want to share information with those who are also challenged by tplink 9 v3. I had read the following.
I am glad that some people will be challenged by air mail.

I am worried about driver. What does stc stand for?

I will connect with serial, but please tell me the farm and the command by those who were able to enter v3.
Looking at youtube, is there also a soldering iron(handagote)?

I used the mtd command instead of sysupgrade(which was disabled by tplink) and changed the partition name at the end of the command line from "firmware" to "linux", which is the actual mtd partition name of my Archer C9 V3.

The only unpleasant thing was that I connect to the serial console by opening the router case and connect a USB/TTL adapter followed this instruction

mtb was not found on my ubuntsu.
Are not you seeing too much people returning to tplink with v3?
I will try c9 v3 test farm.

I think that it may be quick to recover by forcing it brick Shocked
