This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 27858_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. PLEASE ALSO DO NOT RESPOND TO SUCH QUESTIONS! This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless.
If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build. _________________ [I prefer answere in whole sentence]

DD-WRT v3.0-r27858 giga (09/28/15)
Linux 3.10.89 #9711 Mon Sep 28 08:54:06 CEST 2015 mips
Previous: 27783
Reset: GUI reset before and after
Note...I flashed 'dd-wrt.v24-27858_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-WNDR4500V2.bin' but the version is reported as 'giga'.
Been up for 90minutes; after setting up then messing w/ wireless settings several times. I was seeing strange behavior with the 2.4GHz radio, when set to ch6/lower. My phone (MotoX 2013) kept losing the SSID. Laptop and tablet seemed fine...so I messed w/ the channel settings, and when I set ch5/lower, it worked fine. Back to ch6/lower, still not working. Then I tried ch1/upper and again it was fine. I'd seen some of this behavior on the previous build, but had several 'Advanced Wireless' settings changed too, and setting Shortslot back to Auto fixed it. On this new build, I'm still on the Advanced defaults, to see if it helps w/ VPN drops (work connection). I've seen reports of 2.4GHz radio dropping...maybe related? And also, the VPN drops are still occurring; on 5GHz but has not mattered in the past. Connecting the VPN via wireless thru a 2.4GHz Hawking AP has no issues. I had the same issues w/ the k3.x build on my WNDR4000, and switching to the k2.6 build fixed it.
UPDATE: I've now also had my 5GHz internet connection (non-VPN) drop; also common on the k3.x build. It manifests as websites not loading, then after a minute the network indicator shows 'no internet'. Then it comes back and is fine again for a while.
UPDATE 11oct2015: tried various settings, then 26866, still no help. Then to Kong 25015-SP1 (per the wiki) on Friday, and works a-ok now; on 2.4 & 5GHz, incl on VPN (Cisco AnyConnect, btw). _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

E4200 V1 flashed dd-wrt.v24-27858_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200.bin (no reset). All seem ok. Don't know about DHCP since I am not using it from this router. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

Running great on my RT-N16 traveler. One of the best builds in a long time....a few more days of testing...but I think this will be my new fall back build.
Internet speeds are up on it too. I was running about 40Mbps before...now I'm at 52Mbps. (Same hotel)

WAP54Gv3.1 Client Bridge wired to WAP54Gv3.1 AP
It's all good !!!
Unlike previous build the 27858 update was seemless... install and all came back up working very well.
GUI response good.
Wireless connections made to AP are much quicker than previous build... wham bam authenticated and IP within a second... I like it.
Seems to be a solid build so far.
going to do more testing on these old boxes - I may have a new favorite

Issue:
The labels of sheets on Wireless -> Basic Settings get screwed. The last sheet, that is "WL1-WDS" doesn't have enough room and gets hidden lower.
Rescaling the browser with CTRL+MouseWheel unhides the label.

And... Where did MAC filter go ?
The labels being out of place is due to the size of your browser's font/page size settings. Hold Ctrl & hit + or - to make the page bigger or smaller (on most browsers) and it should "fix" the problem at the correct size. _________________ Deployed Routers:
