As near as I can tell, Repeater was a designation more associated with Broadcom. If you have 4 identical units why not use WDS and have something that really WORKS ! Its great on this model and I have gone months without so much as an error or reboot.

Hi - I flashed 4 of these v11 units a few months ago, and one of the disappointing things I discovered was that there was no Repeater or Repeater Bridge option, which is 75% of what I would have likely used them for if I could.

Can anyone tell me if that has changed with newer DD-WRT FW, and if not, what the likelihood of ever seeing this as an option if I'm just patient and wait?

Thanks in advance for any advice and info....

I've just set it up following this guide: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater

Also, if anybody is looking for the NeDark modifed bin to be able to unlock the v11 WR841N, it can be found here: https://mgw.dumatics.com/dd-wrt-firmware-on-tp-link-tl-wr841n-v11/
Flashed that one in addition to this guide: http://dfarq.homeip.net/how-i-upgraded-a-tp-link-tl-wr841n-to-dd-wrt/

Apparently the DD-WRT "supported routers" database is out of date, because 8.x seems to be the highest version of the TL-WR841N listed.

Based on the database, I spent several hours searching eBay for an 8.x model and asking sellers for version numbers. I bought a used 8.x model at eBay, then discovered here in the forum that newer models are also supported, and now I'm wondering whether I should regret my purchase.

I hope someone will update the database to include versions 9, 10 and 11, so other people won't be led astray.

To post this message I had to create an account. The account creation process wasn't encrypted, unfortunately. I hope the people who eavesdropped, if any, aren't too evil.

The stock firmware of my WR841ND v11 does not have VLAN tagging.
Would I be able to use 802.1q (VLANs) and 802.1p (Priority) if I install DD-WRT?

Hello, I have issue with dlna in my LAN network. On Original firmware my configuration (TV, PS4, PC connected by cabel) working in home group and my PC sharing data to TV or PS4. After upgrade to DD-WRT, on all devices, IP is the same, all network functions working but can't see my PC as DLNA. Strange is that when TV and PS4 connected to WiFi - everything is working Smile but WiFi is too slow and i will prefer connect by cable

i tried with two firmware DD and now i have v3.0-r33006 (08/03/17)
uPnP in router is Enabled

I have a 841nd v8, but it also has 4mb flash. It does have VLAN tagging and QoS priority support. Don't expect good QoS throughput with that router though, it is lacking RAM (only 32mb). For good QoS and Vlan throughput you want at least 128mb of RAM now.

Tested on my router and it worked.
Is there a possibility when I press the reset button, it reset to a setting defined by me?

No, you can not do a reset back to a certain point. It is an all or nothing thing. You can either do a factory reset (so dd-wrt reverts back to when you first put dd-wrt on the router, but still running the last version of the firmware successfully installed), or you do not reset the settings at all.

Successfully flashed TL-WR841N V11(european EU build) from r31277 to r34777.Wifi,Lan everything is working fine.No errors so far.No hard reset or restore to defaults was made previously.I'm can go on it up to 21 dbm tx power, and with Canada regulatory domain setted, wifi runs most stable and with maximum range for me.Also stablility and range was improved when using short preamble and 20Mhz channel(i'm prefer 6th channel). On Lan that firmware shows no ping lack(ping is about 1 ms) and no speed cutoff(stable 50 Mbps from 50 Mbps brought by my provider).Wifi led doesnt working,Lan leds green and flashing continuously,Wan led orange and flashing continuously.Apologize for bad english.
Known problems:
1.Ethernet settings may be cleared after flashing.
Solution:
Clone MAC address of your PC.
2.Connection to internet may be lost on android devices after going to sleep mode with wifi enabled.
Solution:
Go to Settings->Wifi->Advanced and switch "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" option to "Never".
3.Some devices unable to connect wifi with wireless network mode differ from "Mixed"(same as in r31277).
Solution:
Revert wireless network mode to "Mixed".
