Couple of days ago i've bought WR841N instead of the the same router, killed by lightning. But new 841 happened to be WR841N v13.0, which is the completely different story. I went to store and took my cash back. Then I've bought WR940N v3, because i saw it in the http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=betas%2F2017%2F site as supported. I brought it home, flashed dd-wrt and... figured out, that this router is not supported either Evil or Very Mad

I just bought the same router, and am having issues flashing it via the web gui - I get the 18005 error. I'm confused, how is it not supported? It looks like this whole thread is about how to get this to work on this version of the router. I have the US version - is it not supported?

The 940n v3 is supported: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/08-03-2017-r33006/tplink_tl-wr940ndv3/

This is the latest firmware at the time I created this post.

Don't use the router database. The only way to tell if a router is supported officially is if there is a build for it on the ftp server (link above), or if it is not on the incompatible list (https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Known_incompatible_devices)

Serously guys ,

One years later still the same issue, the probleme get fix on tomato and open wrt. Why dd wrt team is so slow to follow.

I open up 2 case and both case get close for no reason if you can't make it work just tell us .

From my observation the nic for the wan are not detected on busybox.

Wireless ok
Lan Ok with some tune up

Wan fail to be detected

Still the same issue for the led ... but that one is not a big deal if at least we can have a wan working.

Please lets me know if you want more info or remote access to a box for test . i can also send my router for debug. I just buy a new one for make my setup working .

thanks

PM brainslayer then. Brainslayer will want everything you can find. Board pics, serial output running factory firmware, etc. You can send a router to brainslayer.

Can this "header" mod be done for the Canadian version also? Stock FW attached.

I modified the header of the DD-WRT 29739 factory-to-ddwrt build intended for TL-WR941NDv6 / WR940Nv3, so it will flash on the
US version of TL-WR941NDv6 / WR940Nv3 running stock TP-Link firmware.
If the attached build works for you, it can be further updated with any newer-than-29739 webflash build for WR941NDv6/WR940Nv3.

If you have a Worldwide/International/UN/EU version, use the official build from ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016

Important: Please read about the ethernet issues described here:

Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached build myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it.

I have never heard of a Canadian version of any router let alone that one.

It is most likely the international version.

I can't even flash the US stock firmware. The image I attached is indeed Canadian. Contains English and French languages.

I modified the header of the US dd-wrt build that KrypteX modified, so it is similar to the Canadian official TP-Link firmware.

If you have a Worldwide/International/UN/EU version, use the official build from ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas

Important: Please read about the ethernet issues described here:

Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached build myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it. I have no idea if it will work, have a serial cord (USB-TTL) ready to debrick the router if necessary.

Note: You must be logged in to be able to download the attachment.
