Last time I did an 'erase nvram', which was when I converted my devices (Dlink-DIR868 rev b) to dd-wrt, I ran into the problem that all interfaces shared the same MAC address, yielding all kinds of 'interesting' issues. Has this been addressed already?

Errors:5 GHZ light is not on. Connected to 802.11 AC via 2.4ghz. I seem to see the 5ghz network broadcast though.

noticed something interesting on my R8000 when playing around with the wireless channels.

Router:
Firmware: r29440M kongac (04/24/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.10.101 #8 SMP Wed Apr 20 21:12:56 CEST 2016 armv7l
Status: OK, but error below
Reset: No
Errors: Yes, below


My Wireless Physical Interface wl0 [5 GHz/802.11ac] radio allows me to now choose channels 130,136,140, and 144 through the GUI. When using those channels, however, I am experiencing DNS and connection issues.

LAN still operates fine - so changing the wl0 channel back to one of the 4 UNII-3 channels restores the WAP and router functions as normal.

Should these frequencies be permitted by the driver?

Thanks, Kong. I have been experiencing the second of these issues regularly (as reported here) and did a "factory reset" before putting 29440M on my R8500. After two of these in less than 24 hours I decided it was time for the "erase nvram" reset, which I've just (now) done.

I'll keep you posted if this helps.

I made erase nvram in 2 of 3 routers .. 2 of them that i made it ... no problems so far ..


I have one r7000 that i didnt make erase nvram yet , because i am not sure if i could save my website that runs inside R7000 ..

I have a router running my website in the /JFFS/www ..

If i made a erase nvram i will lose my webserver website ?

It's worth shooting a backup just in case, but I don't *think* you'll lose JFFS with an 'erase nvram' — I've seen that last beyond all manner of resets... but I could be wrong. Never tested with an R7000.

I hope your running your jiffs partition on a usb device.
If so, erasing the nvram will not wipe the usb drive.

Though the other posters suggestion to backup first is a solid idea just in case.
Also, if it is that important of a site, you should be running backups anyway.

Status: wl1 has excessive transmitted errors
Reset: yes

Work fine until radio is turned off through radio scheduling. With radio on, no problem. But when radio is turned off, wl1 transmitted errors go up no stop. And errors still go up even radio is turned on later.

Here are some numbers
Transmitted (TX) 581693 OK, 4812 errors

There were about 50 errors before radio was off. Within 1/2 hour, errors go up 4500.

wl0 and wl2 are not effected

After an 'erase nvram' this build was stable for over 6 days for me on my R8500 (as a full-time router) and on my WZR-DHP1750 (in client bridge mode). This evening I updated both to 29580M, and so far so good, but I'll report *that* status on that thread.
