Kong's DD-WRT build 29440M - 2016/04/18 has been released: http://desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/

Your reports for Broadcom units are greatly appreciated !

This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29440_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

Yes, already uploading fixed build. I had to clean and recompile samba since I added the latestsecurity fixes (badlock etc.).

My 29440 build already includes these fixes.

ftpd and minidlna servers do not start after power cycle. Clicking "apply settings" on service/nas tab will start those services. This is on AC68U.

Router Model: Linksys EA6900 (Xvortex CFE)
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r29440M kongac (04/19/16)
Kernel Version: Linux 3.10.101 #4 SMP Tue Apr 19 01:17:31 CEST 2016 armv7l

Upgraded: from 29300M via telnet (upgrade via WebGui or DDUP not possible)

Reset: Yes, before and after

Configuration: AP, DHCP server, both wireless running, some static leases and some port range forwarding, NVRAM size just below 32K (NVRAM size should not be a problem with the Xvortex CFE)

Status: Up and stable for 2 hours, excellent wireless speed and range, WAN throughput 40/4 (is my ISP's maximum)
Errors: none so far

Thanks Kong!!

They both start fine on my R7000. It is probably your drive that has spinup issues. Since automount stops and starts those services. I already added a delay for lazy drives, but there are always some that need ages to get ready.

Just tried this version on my R8500. I gave it plenty of time to settle and then ran some speed tests. This version has a "stutter" at the beginning of the speed test where it hangs at about 40-50 Mbps for 1 to 1.5 seconds and then shoots up to my ISP's 220+ after that. Does it every time.

Went back to 29200 and that version jumps straight up to the 220+ speed and holds it. You can easily see the difference in the graphs. 29440 shows a low/lull for a second or so and then jumps up. 29200 is just a straight line at 220+ Mbps. So for me at least, still nothing beats 29200.

<kong>,
The hard disk is a TOSHIBA Canvio Desk 4TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive HDWC240XK3J1 Black which is formatted in NTFS. In some previous releases (both yours and BS -- but I dont remember exact release revision number now), the ftpd and minidlna started correctly.
Thanks,

Kong,

Would it be feasible to compile a test 29440 version for the R8500 that is built with the 4.4 kernel? I could try it and see if the 1-1.5 second slow start of WAN transfers is related to the kernel or something else. Just an idea.

Works without any issues on Asus AC68U. Flashed without reset, only power cycled
