Hello everyone,
I have two old Linksys DDWRT's, a WRT54GL v1.1 and a WRT54G-TM.
I need to turn the WRT54G-TM in to an access point for some old G traffic that I need a separate AP for. It's only going to be an access point for the traffic, wired back to the network. The network has a router/dhcp server on it, so the requests for that will need to pass through the AP to the main router/dhcp server.
For the WRT54GL v1.1, I need to turn it in to a wireless client bridge. It will need to connect to the main AP (not the WRT54G-TM) and the wired devices connected to it will then be wirelessly connected to the main AP. Again as with the WRT54G-TM, any dhcp/routing will be handed by the main server.
These devices were running brainslayer's 14929 before they were taken out of commission a few years ago. I can't find any current info on them. The wiki page recommends 12548, the peacock thread appears to still recommend BS 14929 NEWD.
I'm sure someone's still running these. Or remembers them. What's the most recent and as stable as possible firmware recommendations?
So years later 14929 is still what appears to be the go to.
I read through that long post xeon2k8 posted and while I see a few newer versions mentioned, it seems that 14929 was still the fallback for many. 27858 was mentioned but not alot of confirmation.
So I guess I will reset them and let them just stay on 14949. Thanks everyone.
