I'm hanging in a bit longer. I am running the latest LEDE (Davidc502) and it's working great for me. I also recently bought a netgear x4s 7800 and ran some comparison tests with my 3200 setup and the 3200 outperformed it. I also bought Asus 86U last week but could not use it because my router is too close to the ceiling. Also, you cannot get those things to do fast switching even with AIMesh. I have not used the lates BS builds, as I need the 802.11r to go between my two routers, VOIP and all. The drivers are getting better each day with better-late-than-never attention being paid by Marvell.
... And, if you read up on the forums supporting any of these routers, they all have problems of one sort or another. For me, I'm in too deep to get out now. _________________ WRT3200ACM x2 presently running LEDE.

I just purchased a WRT3200ACM from Best Buy today, anxious to replace the stock firmware with DD-WRT like I had back on my 54g back in the day. I'm having all kinds of trouble doing that.
Yes, I have read a bunch of wiki pages on how to flash it.
Yes, I made sure to use the right firmware (factory-to-ddwrt.bin)
I'm using the Linksys GUI. I choose the firmware, I click yes (twice) and then it reboots.
After some time, it comes back... but always, always to the stock firmware. I'm confused as to why. Some info:
1) The Linksys stock firmware is version 1.0.6.186168.

To save your self grief, am speaking from 2 years of frustration with a wrt3200 you could flash, take it back and get a Netgear r7800 or Asus RT-AC86U. These both have dd-wrt support and in the case of the Asus excellent firmware from RMerlin.
In my case the Netgear r8000p has wireless speeds that the wrt3200 never achieved with the wrt3200 running OEM, LEDE and DD-WRT firmware.

The thing is soiled and useless. _________________ WRT3200ACM

It's why it's a good idea to read these forums first, NOT AFTER you buy a router that's been on the market for over a year? what were U thinking?
I have a excuse I was given mine before they hit the shelves and I wouldn't have been so grateful had I known what I was being given lol. _________________ WRT3200ACM

Lol, well then
I did read up on it - found DD-WRT (my favorite 3rd party firmware) supported it. I did not, and still don't see the big warnings about new hardware for it that have been suggested. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?
That being said, I will definitely box it back up and return it. I just wanted a new router that supports MU-MIMO. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that DD-WRT supports that. I'll have to do more research, but I'm not sure if that's a hardware or software support situation.
I do already have access to a WRT1900ACv1, but I have never tried to flash it yet, as I wanted MU-MIMO support because of all the devices in my home between my wife, kids, and I.

NO THIRD PARTY supports MU-MIMO.
There is NO timeline for it's introduction.
So yes get rid of it.
If you want MU-MIMO and ANY third party firm/software you might want to check thoroughly, I'm not sure that there is even a single router that runs true MU-MIMO in any "open source" firm/software.
Good Luck. _________________ WRT3200ACM

@hawkbug
Having a MU-MIMO router is only half of the picture. The client needs to support MU-MIMO as well. Do the devices you are talking about support it. Bet they do not.
Yes, my Apple TV 4k supposedly supports it. Which is the real reason I want it, because I have over 150 movies in my iTunes library and Apple converted many of them to 4k.
Thanks for the info regarding the open source firmware not yet supporting it. That's a bummer, but I guess if I'm going to drop money on a new router, I want to make sure it has the support in hardware so when something like DD-WRT does support, I'm ready.
So, from what I have read - the Netgear R8000p has it.

The highly regarded Netgear r7800 also has it. And it is dd-wrt ready should you want to go that way. Probably a better choice then the r8000p right now. The r8000p is a good fast router, but currently no dd-wrt support. Keep in mind that if MU-MIMO is what you are looking for no 3rd party firmware to my knowledge supports it.
linksys is a super fecked up choice hell even this 300$ ea9300 doesnt even support any tuning or vpn i cant even get someone to buy it. Id get the new netgear xr500 its a beast gaming router fused with netduma nowdaswatimtalkinbout _________________ Thankyou BrainSlayer & Kong for all the hard work <3

I definitely wouldn't blame Brain Slayer if he decides to never touch a Marvel chip set ever again.
I'm impressed somewhat by D lin and the evolution of that persons ability to understand the issues.
He, she,It, took awhile.. from pretty much saying every things fine to OK were trying to fix it.
This all makes sense if your following the git hub. _________________ WRT3200ACM
