Hi all, my Netgear R6250 after the update firmware on tomato by shibby has become constantly flashing green power indicator, attempts to send the original firmware to tftp do not give any result, can anyone have any ideas?
You are suppose to use the back to OFW provided by tomato in order replace with OFW no tftp is required. Maybe you should reset the router by holding the reset for 8 seconds while it's powered on and let it reset you should see the front panel lights all activate and shut off for maybe 45 seconds. Use a static IP to monitor any activity from a pc or laptop and run ping to check for activity coming from the router's gateway ip, if you don't remember just reset the router as mentioned and let it sit for 45 seconds.

I did a reset 30/30/30 and pinged the router, it issues TTL = 100, but after a successful transfer of the firmware by tftp, nothing happens, the power LED keeps blinking green, I waited for 2-10 minutes

30x3 doesn't work for arm routers, use the pin hole on back of the router. Does the router still have tomato on it? If so use the back to OFW r6250 from tomato, If your trying the tftp, but I know that when using the method i had explained is preferred and the tftp is something used when router is in some soft brick state meaning it's waiting for a proper firmware transfer. Which firmware are you using and version of netgear, if its latest, I'd use the original firmware that came installed then once a successful transfer back to OFW you can update to latest netgear firmware if there is any. Good luck

My router Netgear R6250 with a purple stripe, I decided to order a usb ttl adapter and see what happens to it

I had remembered on your op, i was thinking of r6300v2. Did you press and hold the reset button and wait at lease 45 seconds? You did also setup a static ip to that of the gateway last know ip your router was setup to? These steps should have enabled you to reset your router to a default state so if tomato is installed tomato will come up not Netgear, and if you get a ttl of 100 what does the icmp have could you show an image of your output when you are using ping, and are you using windows or linux, macos? Another thing to remember is, if you are successful into getting back into the gui reset your router to default in this case if tomato is there clear nvram, if you are going to reinstall netgear use the tomato r6250 back to ofw and once done install whatever netgear firmware you have for the r6250 and restore defaults again.
Yes i tried to hold the reset button 8 and 45 seconds, nothing changes ;( the router starts to boot, all the LEDs flash and then the power indicator flashes green, ping always gives TTL = 100 My os Windows 10

Ok, I believe you that holding the reset for 8 seconds, but I'm unclear if you mean you also did for 45 seconds? as to waiting 45 seconds after holding and then release the reset for 8 seconds, did you setup a static ip like 192.168.1.2, netmask:255.255.255.0 no need for gateway or dns for some reason netgear likes that ip address? Ok the router maybe waiting for a tftp install, netgear has a tutorial on how to do this, i'd suggest you can try that as well before your USB adapter arrives. Sorry the suggestions didn't help you, maybe try the tftp as suggested from netgear, good luck

Google, but usually if the boardid doesn't match the id of the firmware you get. Message in putty.
Wait till someone else chimes in. Maybe Sploit. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
