I tried to install this and the router won't accept telling me the versions are not correct.
http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2017/02-28-2017-r31544/tplink_tl-wr940ndv3/

This was the only most updated one I could find for this router.

Can anyone sent me a link to the correct firmware version?

Thanks.

I do not believe that is the case: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WR941ND_v4.x

As far as I can tell, the 940n v4 is close but may not be exactly a 941nd v6.

Same SoC, same RAM but not the same board layout.

https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WR940N_v4.x

Incompatible bootloader. Connect a serial cable to the router and post a screenshot of it booting up.

Hello everybody, I would to use my tp-link TL-WR940N with DD-WRT.
I already succefull upgrade to current stable LEDE release (Reboot 17.01.4).
I then tryied to install a DD-WRT release made by ian5142 posted here.
Unfortunately after download, router fails boot.
I looked Boot log and I think the problem is here:
    ## Booting image at 9f020000 ...
    Uncompressing Kernel Image ... ERROR, LzmaDecode.c, 332

    Decoding error = 1
LZMA ERROR 1 - must RESET board to recover

Searching on net I found this forum. User has the same error in other context and he solved it using different LZMA encoder.
Could be it the same solution?
So I add this post by the ian5142 suggestion then I'll try open a SVN ticket.
On attachment again my boot logs.

It is now supported, brainslayer added support for the 940N v4 in 35076: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/35076

I have closed your ticket on the SVN.

I would suggest using the factory-to-ddwrt file (or the eu version first) then use the webflash file to upgrade.

Wow that sounds great, I will try flashing dd-wrt
to My TP Link TL-WR940N (EU) v4

I just purchased this router last month,Is it a good practice to flash it immediately or wait for other stable releases?

Thanks in advance

All dd-wrt releases are beta. I would suggest starting with 35244 at the moment is that was when Brainslayer officially supported the 940N v4/v5. Use the files from the betas folder, see the link in my signature. I would advise against using the files here, at this point. They had their use, but now that the router is supported by brainslayer, no longer needed.
