I've looked at the wiki for TL-WR740N
http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/TP-LINK_TL-WR740N
and there's no info there on whether v7 is supported, I only know v1,2,3,and 4 is supported.
Some info about my router:
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 160708 Rel.68336n
Hardware Version: WR740N v7 00000000
FCC ID: TE7WR741NXV6
Serial number: 216B873010182
I hope I'm not asking a stupid question
EDIT: The router database only has v1,2,3,4. No v7, does this mean my router isn't supported?

I refunded that router.
The one I'm currently using is an Asus RT-N12HP Revision B1
Looking through the supported devices list, I see RT-N12 revision B1 but not RT-N12HP, is mine supported?
It doesn't seem obvious as it is not explicitly stated in the supported device list so I must ask.
In addition, may I know what does the hyphen "-" in the revision mean?
For example the RT-N12 has revisions B,C, and a hyphen "-", what does this hyphen mean?
I have screenshots attached for clarity.
Hey thanks for your reply !

It is supported, but it is not so easy to install
After some sniffing with wireshark, i found that router asking for wr740nv6_tp_recovery.bin in recovery mode
only TP-LINK know why they ask for v6 file on V7 HW
But, uboot is modified, so no joy with V6 recovery TFTP image
there is no other option than rs232 console
i tried to:
1. tftpboot 0x80000000 imagefilename.bin
2. erase 0x9f020000 +0x380004
3. cp.b 0x80000000 0x9f020000 0x380004
imagefile was openwrt for 841nd v11
after openwrt is up, you could move to ddwrt very easy
both of them work wery well
hope this will help someone
