Under the 'Status' Tab - 'OpenVPN' Sub Tab.

What do you have there? Has your external IP Address changed?

I'm thinking that it's possible the CA Certificate might have been somehow altered when copied over into the 'CA Cert' box.

Delete everything in 'CA Cert' and recopy the CA Certificate over again. Copy it over directly from ipVanish's instructions. Don't save it on your computer first to avoid it being changed by something like 'spell check'.

http://www.ipvanish.com/software/configs/guideCRT.txt

Also, remove everything from the 'Additional Config' box except for remote-cert-tls server

When you're done the only boxes underneath 'ns Cert Type Verification' (not selected) that should have anything in them are:
'Additional Config' remote-cert-tls server
'CA Cert' All text from above link

Click on Apply Settings

Give it about 10 seconds & then check the 'Status' Tab - 'VPN' Sub Tab.

Hopefully that does it. Let me know as soon as you can how it turns out!

That's normal at first start-up.

Does it begin to display the correct date & time a bit later in the Syslog?

The time is displayed in UTC (Universal Coordinated Time).

Everything looks fine to me until you get:

Cannot load CA certificate file /tmp/openvpncl/ca.crt (no entries were read)

I'm 99% sure whatever is causing that error is also what's responsible for the Status Log being blank.

Is it still working? if you switch to another one of ipVanish's servers does your IP also change?

So it turns out that the CA Certificate was posted incorrectly on the ipVanish updated instructions.

Here is the correct CA Cert:

I'm just glad we got it figured out. Who knows how long it'll take for them to finally respond to your support ticket.

Like I said: great speeds - horrible customer support!
