thanks again Brimmy.i have a ttl to usb and I'm familiar with jtag/serial interface.my router is a version 2,so its glued.i may try to heat it up and open it.are there any cons to using the r33006 firmware?i've been reading what changelogs I can find.

r33006 was stable for me but the only con i can think of is that it didn't have the updates for Spectre and Meltdown add to it.
