I think this is a great topic to start cause im sure alot of people have problems with
setting up this correctly...
Im from belgium and ISP is Belgacom(Proximus)
Here in belgium they dont really give us full control over the BBox3(modem)
we can only logg in as user, while there is an option to log in as ADMIN.
but we dont get the password for it...
On the BBox3(modem) there is a RED port; so 4LAN's and 1WAN(red)
Now after searching forums and looking on the net about Bbox3 and Proximus and Wan port
There is not much to find, or well hidden, as for employees from the companie itself,
and forums used by them, they all led people by saying it can't be done...
Bridging the Modem should be impossible if you must believe what they say
and the WAN port is decorative and cant be used...
That makes me come to this point, DEGRADING the modem/router or Bridging it.

What i mean with Degrading the modem:
Turning Off DHCP as first, use your Main router(dd-wrt/stock) as PPPoE session to get the public ip
and turning off WiFi bands on Modem part replacing them to the main Router aswell.
that does the job, but still you are using an open PPPoE session wich give you double NAT settings,
if thats for gaming, its not so good on the latency part.

What ive been trying to do, is completely turning off the PPPoE session on the modem.
(What we can do with the BBox3)= Uitschakelen PPPoE Bbox3
And Turning off DHCP and let the main Router give out the ip adress pool.
If succesfull you will noticed a dramatic change of browsing speed and lowering of latency
on your netword cause we removed the double NAT.

Now on the Bbox3(modem) the Lan port 3/4
Can be used as only connection for TV Decoder in your home(only works on bridging)
Lan port 1/2 are used for local devices from Ip pool.
This all works if configured correctly.
connecting the Main router from Modem(LAN) to Router(WAN)
then create your network from there.

My 2 main qeustion now are....
Can you go from Modem(Lan) to Switch(LAN1) to Router(WAN)
and then use the Switch(LAN2) from Modem (LAN1) to secondary "SLAVE" Router(LAN/WAN)
and connect other devices to the switch while Master Router is on LAN1 on switch.
and keeping TV's devices on LAN3/4 ports
Could this work like this aswell ?

Now my other qeustion is:
Can i use the WAN(Red) port on the modem(degraded)
to Main Router(WAN) and connect all devices on Router.
I think its only in belgium and Holland they have these kinda Red('WAN) ports,
but maybe they are just regular WAN ports like on router.

Now to close this topic, i am using dd-wrt on my router, but am i using the correct
connection to keep a steady home network?
Any Tips/Issue's, would be gratefull if any could provide
relaible information about this, so i can figure this out and make it work.
Thanks for your time
