I just picked up a R7800, when switching on 5GHz and setting it to 80MHz the wireless network disappears. I can't get above 150mbps on 20MHz

Yeah, okay well that's great. Mine won't even broadcast an SSID on 80MHz. Should I return the router - is it a hardware defect or something I overlooked?

Does the 5ghz broadcast on stock? What channel is yours set at? Have you tried different channels and extensions? Are you sure it's not a client issue?
You don't really give mich info.

Never used stock, just got it today - first thing I did was flash DD-WRT. 5GHz works on 20MHz and 40MHz. Just not on 80MHz. It is set to auto channel right now.

Don't use auto. Can't rule out hardware fault if you didn't try it on stock. If it works on stock, you know it's not a hardware issue.

I got it working. It's picky with channels, anything above 153 is no go. However I am at 153UL+2 and only getting 250mbps MAX. What am I doing wrong?

It can't be anything above 153 is a no go, mine is on channel 161, so it's got to be a setting of yours.

I deleted your other thread you started overnight. No need for more than one for the same thing.
Tatsuya twice pointed you to the settings link in his signature and he asked for a screen shot of your settings.
If you can't provide the information that those who are trying to help you asked for, don't post anymore.
