I used to have a .32 version so I downgraded firmware to .12.

Then I tried to upload wndr3700v2-factory_NA.img at the browser interface. Did not let me, says wrong version or something. So I re-uploaded the .12 original image. I've tried the 30/30/30 even tried tftp of the wndr3700v2-factory_NA.img assuming thats ddwrt. Still same problem.

What is happening, when I tftp the ddwrt img, the router keeps rebooting over and over.

Anyone have a solution?

I assume you are getting this file from the wiki??
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Netgear_WNDR3700 Rolling Eyes

Most likely you will have to find an older wndr3700-factory_NA.img for 1st install.
I don't have the WNDR3700v2 so can't say for sure what might be best..... someone here will know Idea

While you are waiting on someone that actually knows what they're talking about you can try -
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/08-03-2017-r33006/netgear-wndr3700v2/

See if have the same results

ok.. I went back, old school... 02/2017.

What I did differently though was rename it from:

wndr3700v2-factory-NA.img to WNDR3700v2-FACTORY_NA.img. I dont know if its because of that or because its from 02/2017?? Well, this time it took the img from the browser interface and I didnt have to tftp.

Once it comes back up, I'll see if I can upload the latest version.

good deal -- yea lots changes in last few months

Read 'NEW BUILD' threads before you jump off into something that might be a mess.
I don't know if latest public release worked on your router or not and I'm not going to read thru it all for you.

r33413 worked fine on the WNDR3700v4 but for USB automount ---
-- but the WNDR3700v4 is a completly different unit than the v2 ''''bout like night/day

I spoke too soon. LOL. 02/2017 still reboots constantly. I guess renaming it to all caps let it upload via the browser but the unit keeps crapping out and rebooting. Sad

Try the 33006.
You sure it's a North American router and not EU????

pretty sure its NA not EU as I'm in NA.

Tried 33006, same problem. This time I did it with 30/30/30 and waited for at least one minute after the last 30. Still same constant rebooting. Very strange.

EDIT:
If light still flashing after TFTP is complete wait couple minutes and power off....wait 13 seconds, power on see what you have

Yea you should --- but like I said you should read new build thread.
just because it's new and has been released don't mean it is good on your router

The old 25279 build is what I used in the wee hours this morning to untangle one of my wndr3700v4 routers after making it a brick with one of BS new releases ... actually my fault cause I didn't check file size ... I should have never attempted the install.
Point is you should keep that build handy.
another oldy I use is 23503 but it didn't work for me this time.
Strange things happen sometimes --- I could not even get a netgear firmware to install ... after 6 differ dd-wrt builds the 25279 worked Smile I just hate to open the box ... so that all ended well for me
