So if I can't load dd-wrt I need to return my router?
Do yourself a favor and return and get a Netgear r7800 or r8000. Cannot wait to get my r8000 (Wednesday) so I can decommission the wrt3200.

sry Bill,
I had big hopes too for the WRT series. But like my wife said, "hope" is different from "proven".
fyi--> I let her take a hammer to my WRT3200, she was as frustrated with poor internet then I was
I figured that a company like Belkin that bought the Linksys name would put out a decent product, especially when they said it was intended to be Openwrt and DD-WRT friendly. Like great a company that is willing to support the 3rd party developers. How wrong I was.
Won't take a hammer to the wrt3200, but it just may show up on ebay for another unsuspecting person. At least mine you can flash with 3rd party unlike the newer ones it seems. One more black eye for Linksys. Claim 3rd party ready and then cannot flash. Been flashing the crap out of this wrt3200acm for well over a year.
I made every mistake humanly possible and haven't figured out any way to Fuck it up yet.
So if your's isn't flashing, it's probably defective and you need to get a RMA.
key word: over a year
were talking about the new hardware that has changed nand manufacturer
Key Word! defective router, I wouldn't give a rat's ass for why it's defective only that it IS defective, therefore return it for another or replace it.
Simple. _________________ WRT3200ACM

Correct it is supposed to support 3rd party firmware according to the box and does not return it! Linksys is putting out crap in my opinion. If they get enough returns they may wake up. Wait what was I thinking they have not for at least 2 years so why start now. _________________ Unifi Security Gateway:Unifi Firmware Netgear r7800:Voxel Firmware Modem:Netgear CM500V voice and Data. If they had just been honest and told us that it would be one of the most powerful and at the same time most useless device you could plug into a wall outlet.
When I had mine open on the bench I did use it to dry out some damp bud on the larger heatsink it's works pretty good for that, not to fast just right.
I have way more efficient ways to cure my harvest but it was just sitting there so... _________________ WRT3200ACM
As a replacement i received a Velop based WHW0302 router and i was asked to keep my wrt3200acm too.
I am not sure if the hardware is defective or is it a new strategy from linksys that is not allowing to flash any 3rd party firmware manually.
I observed that the previous erroneous firmware version was installed in boot_part 1 and the new update, which was pushed by Linksys couple of days back, is installed in boot_part 2. Even now I cannot flash it with dd-wrt firmware.
So, I am not sure if it is a defective NAND flash which is not allowing to change boot partition or is it the new expected behavior ? The router seems to work perfectly fine with linksys firmware and I do not see any issues with wireless performance as reported by other users.
Anyway, if someone finds a way to flash dd-wrt, please share the trick.
I am planning to order a serial cable and then install dd-wrt with uboot and tftp method. Where can i find detailed instructions/tutorial for this ?
It is possible to install DD-WRT on WRT32X but:
1) Image should support WRT32X flash partitioning
2) Kernel should support AMD NAND
3) Image should include native Marvell wifi driver
4) Image utilities / GUI should be modified to support Marvell's proprietary parameters (docs needed)
AFAIK no working images exist now. _________________ Asus WL-550gE -> Asus RT-N16 -> Linksys WRT32X

The only person on the planet earth at this moment who is in a position to do anything about that last, would be D. Lin AKA Yuhhaurlin.
I don't know if that Proprietary documentation is even open to his eyes.
Bottom line, if yuhhaurlin decides to work on it then it may happen but that's out of the control of everyone here. _________________ WRT3200ACM
I think all the problems related to not being able to flash dd-wrt/lede/(old linksys fw) is caused by the fact that wrt32000acm has a new nand chip (since september 20017 ?), and it needs that kernel to include drivers for this.
please take a look here https://github.com/ValCher1961/McDebian_WRT3200ACM/issues/1 .
Same issue here... so it sounds like we just need to RMA with Linksys?
rma while you can, it isn't going to get fixed anytime soon. _________________ My "WRT" rant, and why I have gone ddwrt on x86, no more consumer routers. ( ac86u as access points & bridges )
