SFE will only affect the WAN/LAN interface. At that ISP speed, I do not think that you will notice a difference in internet speed because the software should be able to handle that speed anyways (Feel free to disagree since I do not own that hardware)

turn it off if u get ur wan speed without it. its a buggy problem causing feature, like all the other attempts of "speeding up nat" have always been _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Has anyone actually seen SFE speed up NAT? I haven't seen it improve anything on a 550Mhz tp-link. Max seems to be in the 60megabit range with and without it enabled (it doesn't require a reboot does it?)

TURN IT OFF !!!!
This undocumented, useless 'gimmick' that is enabled by default caused me nothing but wasted time for months since I had no idea it was added, nor that it was set to enable.
When my service was 30Mbps, it apparently wasn't a issue. When my Internet service got increased to 60Mbps, problems started to show which was the same time I started 'streaming' from Amazon prime.
When Spectrum increased the service (without telling anyone until SIX WEEKS later) it caused enormous problems.

It wouldn't of been so bad if;
1. It was NOT set to enable by default and
2. It was clearly documented that it was added and what it was suppose to do. Including adding it to the help menu which so many entries are missing from most of the pages.
If there is time to construct the feature/function, there is time to document it. Stop assuming everyone knows everything and don't even try to tell us to do a search, we shouldn't have to!!.
Lastly, don't tell us 'if you don't like it, don't use it'. We do like it or we wouldn't be here. And we do appreciate the time and trouble this involves, just don't cut us short.

It's not in the internal help file where it should be.
Anywhere else is immaterial.
None of that changes the fact it shouldn't be enabled by default. Period!

You know what you should do? Withhold a portion of brainslayer's and kong's paycheck, when you send it to them that will teach them. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

LOL, I guess you need to review Murrkf's Standard Disclaimer under Broadcom section
Time to add that to Atheros section too

I do not want to become the hated person, but I have had good success with SFE enabled. Using it has given me stock speed but with all of the DD-WRT features. Obviously when I turn on QoS SFE does not work and I understand that.
I agree documentation is not a strong point, but there are notes and information on the forums. Not everyone is going to be happy with every single thing about DD-WRT. I have my little annoyances with it but they do not cause me to get upset. So I do understand.
Hopefully I am adding some positivity and say THANK YOU to the devs, I think that they do their best.

You can enable both SFE and QoS as I'm using it( thanks to Tatsuya46 and mrjcd ). But does it help?... very difficult to prove with VPN in place.
To enable SFE when QoS is enabled, you need to have a startup script to reenable SFE as follows:
## Enable SFE when QoS is enabled.
#!/bin/sh
sleep 10
insmod shortcut-fe
logger "shortcut FE loaded" _________________ ASUS GT-BE98 PRO Main: Fiber 5gbps up/down
