I would rather stay with stock firmware then this crappy firmware Kong made
Recently they have been pushing this unfinished firmwares to us like we are guinea pigs for them
They won't come out with stable firmware they are working for corporations I guess and our units are the free guinea pigs

These are test firmware but they are 1000% better than the bullshit firmware netgear is releasing. Go read the netgear community forums and you will see nothing but problems.

DDWRT firmware is not for everyone and Netgear is. Calling Kong's firmware crappy tells me how limited your knowledge is (other people have other words for that). The only time I use Netgear firmware is for warranty issues.

People need to know Linux or just stick with OEM firmware it's that simple. I'm no expert just self taught with the help of these forums and the great people here. These forums are rich with information and it takes time to find them and experimenting/troubleshooting with code is part of process. I can spend weeks fixing an issue on my own since I run a complicated setup. But having some basic Linux coding is sometimes needed. I will post issues I have run into and what I did to fix it. DDWRT is not perfect but there are "work-arounds". For example, I'm been working on a problem throttling Band-Width to Renters for a family member's R7000. Currently QoS with IPv6 on DDWRT is broken, But using an external smart switch with Band-Width control is my work around plus it takes the load off of the router.

Kong's presents with DDWRT development is the BEST thing that happened in our community and I thank Kong for all his work and time!! THANK YOU KONG!!

Router: Asus RT-AC68U (H/W Ver: c1)
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r34800M kongac 02/07/18
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-33525M kongac 10/17/17
Kernel: Linux 4.4.114 #518 SMP Wed Feb 7 08:19:26 CET 2018 armv7l
Status: ok
Reset: no - updated through webgui
Errors: nothing significant and looks good
Wireless Packet Info
Received (RX)1427847 OK, no error
Transmitted (TX)7411336 OK, 16 errors
Uptime: 20:41
Issues: None that I have noticed. I had constant crashing on the 34320M from January so kept going back to 33525M. So far this is the most stable build for me.

Also that Maguvu guy who posted further up this thread should really go back to his stock firmware, stay there, and not come back to this forum. I've been using Kong builds in production environments for YEARS.

Works fine for many, much better than stock for me and many others. For some units stock could be better, for those that work well, no way stock is better.

You can go stock if you like, however such posts do nothing good to the devs or the community,

Good luck

Second that. This person's choice is to be respected, as much as his words to be despised. The builds are clearly labeled TEST/beta -- so yes I would say there is a reasonable expectation one is installing these as 'tests' or 'betas'.

Seek help if you need, leave if you don't like the free software, make a build yourself if you are capable, or hire someone to if you want.

Bugs are unfortunately natural part of engineering development, but incendiary attitude like this is not a necessary flaw of human character.

Erase nvram from CLI and put your settings in manually?

BTW there is a new build 34900 get that first and then do erase nvram
