I have owned the ASUS RT-AC66R 802.11ac Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750 Gigabit Router for about half a year now and have been using ddwrt firmware on it only a few months now without any major issues. Today my brother port forwarded 3 ports so we could play commandos 2 together and after he saved and applied, router kept rebooting every minute. Holding reset button on the back did nothing to stop rebooting. At this point I googled how to get out of bootloop. Got into the routers recovery mode, cleared NVRAM and loaded dd-wrt-Asus_RT-AC66U.trx on it again(2nd time flashing anything on this router). I could now set new login and settings for the router in ddwrt. I apply restore.bin settings that has been working without issues to connect it properly to my xfinity modem. The device rebooted and a few minutes waiting to see if it will reboot again I plug in the other computers in my house to the router and then bootloop started again. Only way I was able to stop bootloop now was flashing stock asus firmware RT-AC66R_3.0.0.4_380_8120-ge60d6e4.trx back onto it which is what I am using now. I would still like to use ddwrt on my router so if someone can help me figure out why the router bootloops with ddwrt now that would be great.

You can try to reset to defaults by using the WPS button.
HOLD WPS button, power down, while holding, Power up and hold for approx 25 sec until the lights start flashing.
