any thoughts on DDWRT support on this one? _________________ My "WRT" rant, and why I have gone ddwrt on x86, no more consumer routers. ( ac86u as access points & bridges )
I doubt it. Considering that you can't even flash the newer rt-ac88u, rt-ac3100 and the rta5300 with the new encrypted cfe. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.

One more reason I am glad I went the Netgear route. Have r8000 that is supported by dd-wrt and hopefully in the not too distant future support for the r8000p. The box the r8000p even talks about 3rd party support.
Merlin's does everything effortlessly anyway. _________________ My "WRT" rant, and why I have gone ddwrt on x86, no more consumer routers. ( ac86u as access points & bridges )
PSA: running Asuswrt-Merlin (or any fork of it) on non-Asus devices is ILLEGAL. Asuswrt-Merlin contains proprietary components that are only licensed for legal use on original Asus devices. _________________ My "WRT" rant, and why I have gone ddwrt on x86, no more consumer routers. +1
Had a brain fa.t. Of course Merlin did not do a Netgear 7000. It was a Asus router 66U that I ran his on.
Tried Xvortex on the 7000, but settled on advanced tomato at the time. _________________ Router currently owned:
