ASUS RT-87U

yea i've tried all the ASUS RT-87U debrick methods, been trying for a bit with the various approaches. bottom line...the device seems to be in a continual reboot cycle. the ASUS Firmware Restoration Tool pretends to work. but after it 'reboots' doesn't matter if i'm using their latest firmware or the previous release of the DD-WRT, device will just reboot pretty consistently.

after 'flashing' here's what happens.

LAN port 4 lights up, starts blinking like its working
then power LED (solid).
port 4 goes solid blue.
<try and access 192.168.1.1 via browser>
port 4 blink, blink, blink.
ALL four LAN ports light up solid.
reboots.

Router: Netgear AC1450
Status: miniDLNA is unstable, everything else seems fine
Reset: No
I reverted to an older build, as I didn't have time to reconfigure.

Router: Linksys EA6300v1 (EA6400)
Status: can't enable usb support, everything else seems good
Reset: No
I'm not sure if usb worked on previous builds, as I don't need it on this AP. I was playing with CIFS to mount my hdd from the AC1450 and see if miniDLNA was working here. It did, but I couldn't see the drive in the usb tab since enabling support would revert to disabled when I applied settings.

Wanna fall back to older builds, as for example, 34929?

New Build 34929 (BS): 02-12-2018-r34929

I would love to - but its in a continual reboot cycle and can't get it to accept any firmware over any kind of approach...tried (in reverse order) TFTP, ASUS miniCFE browser, and ASUS Firmware Recovery Tool. The only one that seemed to work (but clearly failed) was the Firmware Recovery tool which at least said it was reloading.

Yep...NVRAM was corrupted...in case someone comes across this in the future...

Press and hold the WPS button.
Plug in the power cord.
Count to 20, slowly.
Stop pressing the WPS button, leave the power on on the device.
Wait a few minutes.
Everything should be better.

Thank you VERY much.
