Archer C7 V2 - 33772 No outside internet access question.
Have scanned through the 124 page Archer c7 thread a couple of times & have not found the answer.
I'm thinking that I have a geo-lock firmware issue with this router. I'm located in Canada on Telus for my ISP. When I have this TP-Link router plugged into the WAN port on my DSL modem, get assigned an ip address, all looks Ok on the setup screens, but no outside internet access. Hook up my old router (DIR-615 running 30880)to the WAN port of the DSL modem, then plug the C7 into one of the LAN ports of the 615 I have internet access. I have tried cloning the MAC address of the 615, along with different firmware versions (later ones). All with no luck when connected to the DSL modem. Any ideas or advise would be welcome.

You mean the WAN port of your TP-Link router is connected to the Modem?

Do you get a private or public IP on the WAN port?

Does your ISP use PPPoE?

#1 Correct WAN in port on C7 to WAN or any LAN port on DSL Modem.

#2 I do get assigned an WAN IPv4 IP address.

You din't answer if the IP was a public or a private 192.168.x.x address?

Is the WAN setup the same on the C7 and DIR-615 (DHCP or PPPoE)?

Ques #1 Private IP 192.168.*.*

Ques #2 The WAN setup pages look identical other than the C7 build has some more options (defaults).

Both using DCHP.

ISP Modem is an Actiontec T1200H
