I recently bought said router and want to install the dd-wrt firmware to it.

I went to download the firmware but noticed two downloads.

1: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2018/03-20-2018-r35452/linksys-wrt1200acv2/

2: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2018/03-20-2018-r35452/linksys-ea6350/

Which one do I use and where is the instruction page, I've looked everywhere but can't find the one for this router. Since there's no "choose file" option I guess I'll have to flash it over a cable directly linked to the device from my computer.

As you can tell I'm somewhat new to this, however I've been in networking for a long while now and I'll understand any directions given.

Thanks

The wrt1200ac is a totally different unit. It's blue and black. Like the old wrt45g units.
I don't know if the ea6350v2 is supported.
As far as I know only the ea6350v1 is.

Ask in the Broadcom forum.

@TechieAndroid
Since you are new to the wrt1200 have you read the stickies? If not do yourself a big favor and read them, or you can go by the threads in my sig which are the stickies.
Learn about the partitions, how to switch, how to preserve the Linksys firmware and lots more.

Yeah that confused me because the Linksys EA6350 V2 is a 1200ac as titled on the box (misleading imo) but I suppose that wasn't really for defining the model unit...

So I do not have a wrt1200ac I have a EA6350 v2 that I bought for loading a custom firmware onto it thinking it had support when in actuality it did not. Crap guess I'll take it back.

I just wish it was easier to pick a regular, not expensive, wireless ac router, that had decent support...

Sorry about the confusion. Saw the download for wrt1200 and made an assumption without knowing everything.

I guess this thread can come down now.

I was confused at first, thus the title.

Now that I've tried flashing the v1's firmware to the 6350 v2 and it didn't take.

I have been able to repair my 4500 and flash it, so I'm just taking the 6350 back (waste of money imo).
