!UPDATE!-- I REVERTED to v3.0-r35531 - what I thought was a temporary DNS issue seems to be I think a problem with the NTP which is affecting DNS and all my network. I tried tweaking NTP a little without luck, also changed my DNS addresses. I also disabled IPv6 as that used to fix NTP issues reported before thinking maybe now it caused them but that isn't it (I now appreciate the NTP issues effects). For now had to get things going again at home. :O

Installed r35667-2018.04.04 on my WRT1900ACS_v1 as a flash upgrade, keeping existing config. ISSUE -- DNS resolution for all network clients failing. NTP/Time not setting.

DHCP is broken in this build. You will not be able to run multiple DHCP servers which cater to VAPs. _________________ WRT3200ACM - Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35681 std (04/06/18).

On my WRT1900ACS_V1 - I had a seamless upgrade, and at first it seemed to work then I was getting DNS errors. I thought my client DNS issue was resolved after a first reboot but then it seemed to be all network devices and I noticed the router time would not set with NTP (thinking NTP/DNS were related). I reverted for now - my timing to test didn't go over well at home. :O

Hmm, maybe my perceived DNS issue is related to this - I didn't spend a ton of time investigating. I do have a guest DHCP setup (so is this error all network DHCP or the extra ones). But I definitely get DNS errors on clients and see the time wrong on the router.
But yeah, this build seems to be confirmed to have issues.

This affects all DHCPs, including ath0 and ath1 interfaces. Basically DHCP service stops. _________________ WRT3200ACM - Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35681 std (04/06/18).

OK, thank you. I did for sure see my router time was not set, then also the DNS errors on my browser. I'm having a suspicion the DHCP issue might actually be what was going on though at root. I use DHCP but have all my devices with reserved IPs (except guest network). I wonder if DHCP service stopping would affect the time? ANYWAY, reverted and will try next build.
DHCP did not work on my Linksys WRT1900ACS V2 with r35667. Remarkably, since I started using DD-WRT nearly a year ago, I've upgraded firmware perhaps a dozen times and this is the first time I've had a problem. I went back to r35531 and all is well. _________________ FIRMWARE: 6-20-2018 - r36168

Hey Strange becasue my DNS is working without issue. NTP time is set. I have no errors in my syslog.
DHCP, DNS, NTP all working for me in AP mode. I have a PPPoE WAN I'm also using DDNS, all without issue, I have 25 wifi clients always connected; a mixed bag; Windows&Mac desktops-laptops, iOS/Android, Apple TVs, IoT (nest, netatmo,Fans,Wemo switches and plugs, bose soundTouch, gaming systems ps4 and a switch...torrents going, netflix, gaming, steaming, browsing and emailing 24/7. Moving a steady 20 GB a day. Weekends and holidays it's 50GB a day.
No issues....my point is that like you I find out VERY fast if there is an issue. Ya know...something really horrific like somebody can't stream something to somewhere ....or turn off their light and adjust the room temperature from their bed. *smh. OH and God forbid something buffers for a moment longer than they are used to. lol..( I say "just wait a second please" about 4 times a month)
Load averages are great, temps all look normal
Load Average - 1% 0.00, 0.00, 0.04 / Temperatures CPU 57.3 °C / WL0 45.8 °C / WL1 48.5 °C
Half the clients are connected to the an Asus-66u and then to the wrt1900 as its gateway via a client bridge; but the dhcp is severed by the wrt1900 and the 66u is set to be a forwarder. All clients gw and dns is all pointed at the wrt1900ac.

Good info. I didn't include all of the story for me but I actually think it was working after a full reset, but I have so many configs I can't practically do that. My basic process was:
1. backup existing config
2. install new firmware -- usually after checking for some posts, it looked OK -- I usually go for it blindly.
3. after update, all seemed ok ... for a bit then my browser started having problems on my main machine, then on another ... I even posted it seemed to work... then I started hearing downstairs from the family ... hey, internet is down, etc. :O
4. soon I coudn't even connect to the router
5. did hard reboot of router and modem
6. still could not connect
7. did a reset on the router (held reset button)...
8. was able to connect, but no configs -- didn't spend a lot of time here but I did see the right time, could connect, etc... so I then restored my settings (wasn't sure if old version to new would work but seemed to).
9. pretty soon started having issues again
10. at one time I switched partitions then and did full reset ... then downgraded
11. once downgraded, restored config... back in business.
ANYWAY -- I think if I did full reset and reconfig probably it would work but I have too many configs to do that ... someday I was thinking of figuring out how to script this out or something.

No problems so far on my 1900ACS v1 but only have a simple setup just internet and WiFi plus DNS pointing to a Raspberry Pi running NoTrack plus another Pi running a Plex Server
Not tested DLNA or Samba as hard drive is being run from Pi _________________ | Netgear Nighthawk X4S R7800 | Linksys WRT1900ACS V1 | Huawei Echolife HG612 3B |
Previous: can't remember but will look further if needed
Mode/Status: AP
Just have the 2.5ghz channel enabled not the 3rd one or first one
Reset: No
Issues/Errors: none so far , I will not though I have no internet connection I am just using router currently for a wireless home network nothing more . I will be looking to configure this with other devices in my network to allow the TV's and other devices in my home to share media from my main desktop PC filled with hard drives aka media center setup .
May also be looking to setup my Android phones hotspot connection with router to supply all devices in home with media and internet when I choose . Would like to maybe to throttle the speeds though if possible with this version update to keep my mobile data usage to a min if you feel meh lol Wink
