@labo Sorry I didn't see that you posted a build thread right before me. Wife was waiting on me to leave. :-/

Try the workaround added to the OP, from Magnetron1.1 in labo's thread.

I upgraded my in-laws WRT54GLv1.1 and GSv6 over the weekend, for some quick checks before taking them (and a WNR1000v3 as gateway, converted from WGR614v10) out of service (please hold your applause) for a N66U (Merlin) and E2500 (DD).

The wireless worked on 35681 (well, at least it bcasted the SSID), but I could not get the channel set off of 'Auto'.

Model: Linksys WRT54GLv1.1 (VPN) and GSv6 (micro)
Kernel: Kernel 2.4.who-cares
Reset: No
Issues: Wireless driver: channel setting does not work (also tried 35667 and 35531)

They were previously on 34431 and working fine. I had all kinds of problems on 35681; tried messing w/ clicking Save multiple times to get the channel list, but then setting a channel and Save'ing again would revert to Auto again. Then I messed with various permutations of also changing the Wireless Network Mode before or with the channel. Sometimes I could get the GUI to stick w/ not-Auto, but the actual bcast would not change.

In the end, I left them with 35531 (which I put on the E2500, and doesn't have this issue) and shut them down for most testing at home...later. Obviously I need to try a reset next, and on a future build.

Router/Version: Linksys e1000v2
Firmware: dd-wrt.v24-35681_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2
Kernel: Reverted back to r35531 so don't know what it is
Reset?/Mode: No
Issues/Errors: No wifi connections possible

Reverted back to DD-WRT v3.0-r35531 mini (03/26/18) because also version "dd-wrt.v24-35667_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2" has the same problem.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC66U
Firmware: dd-wrt-35681-Asus_RT-AC66U.trx
Kernel: Went back to 35034 due to Wi-Fi failure in 35681
Reset?/Mode: YES (tried update with and without reset
Issues/Errors: No Wi-Fi at all. Radios didn't even appear.

Updated from 35034. Went back to 35034.

35034 has other issues where Wi-Fi cuts out for 4-5 minutes and comes back. Not sure where to go back to in order to get stability.

Might try reloading Asus factory firmware then installing 35681 to see if radios appear when upgrading from factory firmware.

Router/Version: TP-Link Archer C9 v1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35681 std (04/06/1Cool
Kernel: Linux 4.4.126 #2890 SMP Fri Apr 6 09:30:11 CEST 2018 armv7l
Reset?/Mode: Yes / AP
Issues/Errors: QoS / Rate limit is entirely ignored, Bufferbloat is abnormally high 300+, jitter abnormally high, speeds are all over the place. Happens w/without OpenVPN. (I am using the ebtables workaround due to corrupt ebtables in newer builds via usb.) These issues were not present in build 09-22-2016-r30681-k3.10.103. (I delayed patching until recently due to seemingly complex bypass for ebtables.)

To reiterate, the issue I am reporting is the ignoring of QoS settings entirely and abnormal buffer bloat, jitter and fluxuating speeds. Crying or Very sad

Has anyone else experienced this issue with other hardware and or found a workaround? Sad

Not sure I am having this problem, but since r35531 I have lost wifi on all but a phone and even it will not connect. It sees the SSID briefly then loses it before I can enter a password.

I did get one error "requires rsn protocol," but I have rolled my Buffalo back to r35531, generic, min/std, as anything from then on out throws the error message and no wifi connection. R35531 is good though and works as it should.

I cannot find anything to disable "RSN" (Robust Secure Network) in later builds, so it appears to be the default and only option. But -- I have been wrong before. Smile

Router Model: ASUS RT-AC66U
Status: 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz WiFi completely broken
Reset: No
Errors:

ASUS RT-AC66U. Upgraded from r33525 to 35681. WiFi completely broken, lights up on router but none of my devices can see the WiFi or connect to it. Tried both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. WiFi Analyzer tool on Android phone shows my wireless networks in "adhoc" mode and nothing at all shows up in the DD-WRT "site survey". Rolled back to r33525 to fix my WiFi.
