Router Model Netgear R7800
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r35700M kongat (04/09/1
Kernel Version Linux 3.18.103 #307 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 9 07:51:03 CEST 2018 armv7l
R7800
Update: via gui 35665 > 35700
Reset: Yes (also had to manually reboot/power cycle to complete the flashing)
So far...
- Static DNS set with DNSMasq DNS unchecked still added ISP DNS entries.
- With DNSMasq DNS checked, Validate DNS Replies (DNSSEC) checked resulted in no internet.
- httpd glitches: theme changed when Apply settings for USB and go to NAS tab no Samba, had to F5/refresh for it to show.

Router Model: Linksys EA8500
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35700M kongat (04/09/18)
Kernel: Linux 3.18.103 #308 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 9 08:06:48 CEST 2018 armv7l
Uptime: 9:56
Temperatures: CPU 60.0 °C / ath0 52 °C / ath1 55 °C
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r35550M kongat (03/27/18)
Status: AP / Static DHCP x 12/ Local DNS enabled
Reset: GUI before - power switch after
Errors: acted like bad flash - hung on flashing logo, after power reset seems normal
/ QoS, Client bridges working well
This is a milestone build. All settings from the config working as expected. And WiFi is the simply the best experienced from a kongat build: very responsive same as kernel 4.9 std builds, excellent signal all clients having exact nil issues, best QoS. It is that good that it will be hard moving on from it to the next build. But as with the nature of dd-wrt development, new builds will be installed and tested, keeping safe this gem of kongat 3.18 kernel builds. Thank-You Kong!

Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r35700M 04/09/18
Kernel VersionLinux 3.18.103 #308 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 9 08:06:48 CEST 2018 armv7l
Update: Web GUI
Reset: Initially, no.
Errors: Sort of...
Flashed just fine and came back up; no hangs like other EA8500 reports above. But, WAN IP would not route traffic through the cable modem the right way. It would refresh and renew DHCP for the WAN just fine, but routing would not happen the right way. I had to do a wipe all settings and go back to default settings and enter everything again. My guess is that the previous build I was on was only using NVRAM of 64KB, this build is 128KB.
I imagine that means that some of the settings were still mapped to areas of 64kb NVRAM that are now not accessible with the 128kb NVRAM size.
QOS- Wifi is solid as always using HTB and FQ_Codel. Wired QOS struggles to keep bufferbloat in check. I am not sure if this is because WAN & LAN CPU is shared or not.
I am not doing anything else special besides a few port forwards and they work fine after default reset.

Router: r7800
Update: from 35530M to 35700M
Reset: Yes (also had to manually reboot/power cycle to complete the flashing) Manually reconfigured all settings.
Status: OK
Errors:
Temps look off - CPU 50.0 °C / ath0 36 °C / ath1 19 °C. Don’t know if these are accurate or not.
Lost my VLAN – eth1.4 off of br1 when rebooted. Lost DHCP and internet on eth1.4. Had to go to Setup/Networking tab and re-”Apply Settings” to get it to show back up under “Current Bridging Table” as assigned to br1. All OK after doing “Apply Settings”.
Performance seems about the same as before. _________________ R7800 r53339 std (08/01/23)
Private network on bridge br0 = eth1 (vlan 1) + wlan0 + wlan1.
Guest network on bridge br1 = eth1.4 (vlan 4) + VAPs (wlan0.1 + wlan1.1) for IOT devices
(Roku's, Amazon Echos, smart switches, etc.) and guest.
Noob still finding my way.
swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 1 set ports "1 2 6"
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 4 set ports "3 4 6t"
swconfig dev switch0 set apply
vconfig add eth1 4
brctl addif br1 eth1.4
ifconfig eth1.4 up
Flashed this firmware (r35700M) to the R7800 last night. Did do a reset to factory defaults and manual reconfig, as usual. Appears to be running fine...including IPv6 using the magic incantations (no incense or chicken sacrifice required this time), but still have these web admin interface-related errors:
Apr 23 14:16:28 DD-WRT daemon.err httpd[1140]: Request Error Code 401: Authorization required. please note that the default username is "root" in all newer releases
Apr 23 14:16:52 DD-WRT daemon.err httpd[1140]: Request Error Code 408: No request appeared within a reasonable time period.
Same errors as the last few version of dd-wrt that I've tried, aren't getting fixed for some reason. Maybe no one else see's them?

on r35700 kong (r7800) almost every time i apply settings on qos page it breaks internet, local access through or to the router is fine, but internet has no response to anything until i apply settings on management page to make wan go down and up again..or reboot _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

This is odd, but from looking at the syslog, it seems that when I log into the web admin interface (full login with user name and password) it causes what looks like a router reboot sequence. I also get the authentication errors mentioned above, all the daemons stop, then it looks like what follows is a complete startup sequence, starting with:
And then the startup sequence follows. This gives me the willies...never seen that happen before as a consequence of logging into the web admin interface. Could be a coincidence, but I'm not a big believer in coincidences.
Firmware changed some behavior starting Apr builds 356**: router looks like rebooting and disconnecting Internet when applying changes in Management page, authentication errors in log at every web logon, ntp time set every hour. There were important changes in network configuration underlaying code the end of last month. Also nvram command changed some of its code and argument position.

props @kong on this build. so far everything works
ethernet
samba speed is reduced from 90MB/s down to 50MB/s
EDIT:
Ive noticed on the status page my ath0 rate is showing 3466.7 mb/s. Is this correct? I thought it was ~1800mb/s max. _________________ modem: arris tm1602
