Just picked this router up a week or so ago, r35681 running great no problems...Didn't have very much luck finding an install guide so I just flashed the factory_to_ddwrt.bin via linksys stock fw.
Still, I had no idea the device has 2 partitions, just yesterday I went to 'Firmware Upgrade' in dd-wrt, and updated to newer beta.
Question is, by upgrading the bin via dd-wrt, have I destroyed the partition that had the stock firmware?
Out of the box, the 3200 has two stock Linksys firmware partitions, booting on partition 1 by default. By flashing DDWRT, you overwrote partition 2 and are now booting from that, but you can still boot from the stock Linksys on partition 1.
Thanks for quick response; so it doesn't matter that after the initial flashing from stock, I upgraded via dd-wrt (Administration -> Firmware upgrade) ?
Oh right, sorry, I misread at first. You probably did overwrite the stock firmware then, but if you want to be sure, you can just boot into the other partition and see what happens. If the stock firmware is indeed gone, you can always get it back by downloading it from the Linksys website.
