Hi.
So this had been running just fine for about 2 months now and for the last week or so it keeps freezing up and dropping the connection to the internet, requiring me to reboot the router. Radio still works.

The R700P is a little different that the R7000 so not all the same fw versions work. Has anyone else experienced this? Newer stable fw version?

Thanks

I have one family member with an R7000 with build 33770M and it requires reboot every 9-12 days. This family has heavy WiFi traffic from teenagers. I notice the Free Memory slowly reduces from 145MB the around 70-50MB Free Memory then router locks-up or reboots. When I get time I will upgrade them to Kongs 35550M (newer Kernel) maybe it's a Kernel issue not releasing Buffer or Cached Memory when Free Memory is running low.

I would give the latest build a run.

Thanks. The only thing is the R7000P is different from the R7000 and some of the fw bricks the "P" model. I will check and see if Kong has a newer one for the R700P.

When I last looked he had folders for the R700P but the bin file in them was for the R8000 and I cannot find out if that was intentional as it can be used or not.

Easy way to find out is to PM Kong. If there is firmware that should not be in the folder then he should know. Also he answer the other question. Keep in mind the devs cannot read all the posts so he might not see your question.

Thanks, will do. I wasn't sure if that was appropriate.

Netgear R7000

I have been using this version for over a month without any issues but starting yesterday it has hung up around 6 to 8 times. More often than not the web management page isn't available. Restarting the router resolves the issue temporarily.

The change to my network is setting up Spike app and NightScout on 3 wireless devices, which cause internet traffic every minute or so continuously. I don't see how that would cause this, but only change that I know of.

I will check on memory usage, that would make sense.

I still have build 33770M on 2 families' R7000 over 25 days uptime and I fixed the issues stated above by removing the follow code from DNSMasq...

Code:

cache-size=9216
log-queries=extra
log-facility=/tmp/DNSCache.log
log-async=15
