Hello,

TP-Link TL-WDR3600 (N600)
DD-WRT v24-sp2 running with VPN enabled in Startup Commands.

DHCP enabled
all dnsmasq options enabled

Used Domain: Lan & WAN
local domain: blank

STATIC DNS1: dns server provided by VPN service
STATIC DNS2: dns server provided by VPN service

I have several static/DHCP assigned by MAC

All internet access is fine including linksys VOIP box. All home networking is fine... except. When trying to access local machines by their local name like "HOMEPC1", "HOMEPC2" etc, it takes forever when trying from a windows machine.

When I run "nslookup homepc1" I get:
server: DD-WRT
Address: 192.168.0.1

request timed out.

I tried different solutions I could find on the web. They either didn't work or would lock me inside my home network. E.g. specifying my router's IP as one of the static DNS addresses...

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

THank you for the recommendations. So basically, there is no implicit registration of DNS names in DD-wrt?
