I've got an old Asus RT-N16 that is in perfect working order and I really want to use it as an ethernet bridge without any NAT to a PC running on the other side of my house that doesn't have wireless.

I flashed it and did a full 30/30/30 reset on it using the April 27 release http://ftp.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2018/04-26-2018-r35831/broadcom_K3X/dd-wrt.v24-35831_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega_RT-N16.trx

I've followed all the directions on the new version of the wiki page and I just can't get it work. It connects to my wifi network as a client, (I can see it connected from the main router), but it is unable to pass any traffic through it's connection to my main AP/Router (which is an AC-68U running KONG-AC from about 6 weeks ago).

I've also tried Repeater Bridge mode and the same issue happens.

If I telnet in the RT-N16 it can't even ping a single device on the main network/router or even the PC that has a static IP and is plugged directly into the RT-N16.

This is super frustrating and I can't just believe there isn't a way to make this work. I would go back to the Asus firmware, but they haven't updated the NT-16 to protect against KRACK and I really don't want to run any non-KRACK patched equipment because I live in an urban area with lots of neighbors and younger people in range so I consider myself in a high-risk area for bored people looking to exploit KRACK

There are a lot of issues with the latest builds, try to go back to build 35531, reset to defaults put in settings manually.
Your best bet is client bridge as opposed to repeater bridge, but as it is a single radio router you will not have Wifi for your clients when using client bridge.
Repeater bridge is often a hit or miss with a lot of routers/ firmware versions.

Go back to build 35531 or 34929 or 34311 or 33555!

@spaceghost Or if your gateway router is Broadcom, WDS is preferred as it will preserve the MAC.

Thanks! Going back to an earlier build resolved it. Ironic that this only seems to have gotten broken in builds in the last month or so...just when I pulled this thing out of the closet to use it again. I love dd-wrt but I always forget just how bleeding edge it can be and how much trial and error can be required to settle on a 'good' or 'stable' build.
