Linksys WRT3200
DD-WRT v3.0-r35831 std (04/26/1
I've spent the past few days trying to connect my WRT3200's OpenVPN client to my VPN provider. I spent a few days troubleshooting a TLS key issue, and finally got it connected (except, then I could not browse the internet at all, but this is a separate issue). During this time, I had no problems restarting the OpenVPN client by simply doing "Save Changes" and then "Apply Changes" on the Services : VPN tab, wherein I had OpenVPN Client : Start OpenVPN Client set to Enable. I could jump over to Status : OpenVPN, and have interesting logging showing up etc.
Then I rebooted the router, and the OpenVPN client will no longer start. I've massaged the 'Start OpenVPN Client' Disable / save changes / apply settings / Enable / save changes / apply settings a number of times, rebooting the router, swearing at it. In no case, now, do I see any output in the OpenVPN log under the status tab.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you for your help.
In fiddling around more, I've discovered that the OpenVPN log screen has no entries (i.e., it has the State / Status / Log fields, but they have no content) if I use "SHA1" as the hash algorithm and use Server XXX. But entries appear if I swich to "SHA512" as the hash algorithm and use Server YYY.
So it seems as if the mechanism to (re)start the OpenVPN client is working reliably. But the logging on the Status : OpenVPN screen is not being produced if I make a tiny change in VPN settings.
If there is somewhere more appropriate to log a reproducible bug against this build that would be helpful, please let me know, I'm new to the forums.
