Hello,
Please let me know if this is on the wrong board, I apologize if it is!
I would like to restore my Linksys WRT3200ACM back to Stock and am having trouble finding the best solution to do. I followed the instructions below but had no luck:
I read through a few older threads and found pretty complex solutions involving Mcdebian; however, I don't feel comfortable with the complexity and don't want to brick my router.
My end goal is to install the ExpressVPN firmware on my router but I was told I have to restore to stock before I can do that.

Install latest dd-wrt on your wrt3200 and then grab the Linksys firmware and install it thru the dd-wrt UI just like you were updating dd-wrt. Brainslayer add code in later builds to support this so yes you will find some old info other prior to the BS fix. _________________ Unifi Security Gateway:Unifi Firmware Netgear r7800:Voxel Firmware Modem:Netgear CM500V voice and Data. If you want to run a Virtual Private Network such as ExpressVPN - do not return your router to stock.
While there are some routers that have OpenVPN Client as a feature within the stock firmware, I don't believe the WRT3200ACM is one of them. Even so, DD-WRT is far better anyway.
Plenty of good guides on installing ExpressVPN on a DD-WRT router out there.
As mentioned above, the Advanced Networking section of this forum is a great place to start:

By doing this it will insure that you have the stock Linksys firmware on one partition, allowing you to flash any upgrades from the Linksys UI with the factory-to-ddwrt.bin, Much safer!!!

And yes DD-WRT is a much better platform to run your OpenVPN with much better control and easier to setup than the stock Linksys firmware. JMHO
