Netgear R7000 overclocked to 1.2GHz - DD-WRT v3.0-r35965M kongac

IPv6 6in4 (HE.net), OpenVPN (with PBR and split tunnelling), Entware, dnsmasq with ipset

Easy ipset support for the R7000

VPN speed: Download: 77.96 Mbps Upload: 5.00 Mbps (AES-128-CBC HMAC-SHA1)

Yes you can get 50 Mbps+ with OpenVPN on a R7000 if you configure it properly!

Not seeing this on my R7000. I updated from a few builds back.

Is this issue with DHCP, wired/wireless? Have you tried static DHCP?

Last resort is a nvram erase and reconfigure if you can't find out the issue Sad

Router Model: Netgear R6400

Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r35965M kongac (05/19/2018)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.132 #561 SMP Sat May 19 01:08:51 CEST 2018 armv7l

Upgraded: from DD-WRT v3.0-r35900M kongac (05/08/2018) via ddup --flash-latest
Reset: No not this time

Status: Up and running for 2 hours, basic setup as AP, static leases, OpenVPN client ( on PIA) with Policy Based Routing up and running, 2,4GHz, 5Ghz USB storage NAS and miniDLNA working.
OpenVPN server up and running.
GUI is responsive and quick

Errors: Yes
OpenVPN with Policy Based Routing does not forward HTTP(s) traffic to the PBR clients with SFE on see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5900.
Possible DNS leak see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6020

There is a solution, to the PBR not working with SFE[/b], @Quarkysg has made a patch for the shortcut-fe module (see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5986#comment:17 ).
Please Kong and/or BS have a look again.
He also compiled a shortcut-fe.ko module for testing (Arm/Broadcom , Linux 4.4) see: https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1107870#1107870 , I am running that shortcut-fe.ko module right now and it is working.

Big Thanks to Kong and BrainSlayer!!

Router: Netgear R7000
errors: HTTPS interface is *really* slow to connect. It's consistently stuck at the "establishing secure connecton" message in chromium for a solid 30 seconds.

Subsequent GUI page browsing takes 10-15 sec. If I ssh into the router and watch `top` as I try to browse, the CPU usage is >50% for `httpd -S` while pages try to load.

When I just idle in my browser on a GUI page, `httpd -S` is taking 17-30% of the CPU.

I tried both chromium and firefox both with new profiles. It doesn't matter if I connect from my laptop or another machine on my network. Bug is consistent. Is there a log for httpd I can post to help troubleshoot?

Code:
Mem: 38188K used, 216260K free, 0K shrd, 4748K buff, 12864K cached
CPU: 10.1% usr 19.4% sys  0.0% nic 70.0% idle  0.0% io  0.0% irq  0.3% sirq
Load average: 0.44 0.30 0.12 3/75 1485
PID  PPID USER     STAT   VSZ %VSZ CPU %CPU COMMAND
 1286     1 root     S     3964  1.5   0 52.6 httpd -S

This is has been happening since 35900M. The last-known-good build for this is 35550M which is what I had to downgrade to.

I am noticing a lot of syslog spam related to items like this:

Code:

May 19 12:44:40 NETGEAR-R7000 kern.info kernel: sit: non-ECT from x.x.x.x with TOS=0x2

I believe its related to my IPv6 tunnel (Hurricane Electric).

Running:

Code:
echo N > /sys/module/sit/parameters/log_ecn_error

Mutes the errors. My IPv6 connectivity it fine, so not sure if there's an underlying issue here.

It's the right command "erase nvram" or "nvram erase" ?

"erase nvram" is the right command from the CLI. Mind you some router will brick when using this command (some Linksys EA series, Asus AC66u, wndr4500 and more)

If you are debugging with a serial interface then it is nvram erase

I thought it had recently been changed to nvram erase using both methods?
