Posted: Thu Sep 29, 2022 20:33 Post subject: No Internet connection available on my DD-WRT router
Hi !
My configuration is :
Internet ---> Internet Provider Modem router (1) ---> Router DD-WRT (2)
I can run on internet from (1) but not from (2) and I do not know why !
I tried to find why in vain.
I continue but ...
Can anyone help me to troubleshoot my installation ?
It is rather difficult for the community to assume all variables, but I'd have to agree with Alozaros. If your ISP modem/router LAN IP is 192.168.1.x, then your DD-WRT router must be in another subnet and you must change the 3rd value, i.e. 192.168.2.x, at a bare minimum to have internet connectivity. That is, unless your client devices are not getting a new IP when you switch between routers... which should not be the case on wireless. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Yesterday night I could’nt send a reply because of an internet problem.

If you have "Ignore WAN DNS" checked, the simplest solution is to add static DNS servers on the Setup -> Basic Setup page (i.e. 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 9.9.9.9 in any order you prefer) as well as check both of the forced DNS redirection options on that page. There's more thorough configuration options that can be employed, but that should get your internet connectivity working from the LAN side of your C7 v5. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

I have now "Ignore WAN DNS" checked (x) and filled the static DNS server as you said. Clicked on « Apply settings ».
It does not work (maybe I have to reboot the router?) _________________ Marc Driver
Using "Save" and "Reboot" on older releases is definitely warranted. You may wish to update to the next public release soon as there are still some quirks in 50274. So far, it is presumed that you are not using anything but dnsmasq for your DHCP and DNS configurations. Are there any other missing pieces to this puzzle if a reboot does not fix it? _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

DD-WRT's QOS completely breaks the internet for me (and has for at least the past year), so disable that if you have it enabled and see what happens.
NAT/QOS>QOS>Disable
Save/apply, then reboot.

QoS is definitely a configuration problem off-topic, but OP's problem could be a number of things not shared.
If modem is gateway (NAT) reconfigure it, contact ISP, true bridge mode, IP passthrough mode or DMZ plus.
Power cycle modem, router, everything.
My DD-WRT is in "Router" mode.
The Internet Provider Modem Box is in "Router" Mode and do not habe "Bridge" mode.
There is a DMZ mode but I want to keep the two touter modes to have two WiFi different sources. _________________ Marc Driver
Your ISP router must not have same options for operating mode, but we have no idea what device it is and no screenshots, so we can only guess. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Put DD-WRT in "Gateway" mode on Setup -> Advanced Routing -> Operating Mode.
Done.
But I cannot see the result because my internet connexion does not work.

Also, given the time elapsed since the OP, it is suggested that you upgrade to a more recent release at the very least.
I have also done. I will see when my connection comes back (probably not before jauary 2nd...
