Which build is that boot log from? I don't know if you can log into shell from serial on this device - but via telnet, you should be able to do an 'nvram set console_debug=1 && reboot' for further debug information via syslog / console. The only 'suspicious' thing I see in the log is this, everything else is 'normal', I believe:

Code:
Error loading shared library libatomic.so.1: No such file or directory (needed by /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.1)
Error loading shared library libatomic.so.1: No such file or directory (needed by /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.1)

It's on version 50357. I tried adding the debug to the nvram, but it seems to not be taking.
Code:

root@DD-WRT:~# nvram console_debug=1
root@DD-WRT:~# nvram show | grep console_debug
size: 25142 bytes (40394 left)

After a reboot, I don't see any debug info in the boot log. Also, no, I am not able to log into the serial console. Read only apparently.

Here is the output when attempting to manually start httpd
Code:

Jan  1 01:08:01 DD-WRT user.info : [httpd] : maybe died, we need to re-exec it
Jan  1 01:08:01 DD-WRT user.info : [httpd] : Error on startup, returncode 127

Hang on, I left out the "set" of the nvram command. Trying again.

I've already pinged BrainSlayer about your updates, but no reply yet or anything on svn as far as commits. Since it is Friday, he's probably busy with other things.

Appreciate it. Not a biggie, it's almost the weekend. The 23 hour trail license will expire by then, but I now know how to get back to this point pretty quickly (hopefully anyway). I will just start completely over from scratch with it, therefore hopefully resetting the 23 hour timer, whenever he gets back to us.

Thanks for the fast turn around. When flashing linux.bin I get this.
Code:

RedBoot> fis create linux
... Erase from 0xa8030000-0xa8728eb6: ................................................................................................................
... Program from 0x80041000-0x80739eb6 at 0xa8030000: ...............................................................................................................V
Can't program region at 0xa8720000: Unknown error

I will try later to get back to an older version where the WebGUI works and try GUI flashing the eoc2610-firmware.bin

@BrainSlayer
While linux.bin does not flash, it can still be made to work by following these steps:

What I had to do was basically wipe it completely (fis init -f), flash back to r29193 from 2016.
Steps needed:
Get into RedBoot (I am not providing instructions for that, they are already here)
Code:

RedBoot: ip_address -l 192.168.1.1 -h 192.168.1.11
RedBoot: fis init -f  #This insures NVRAM gets erased
RedBoot: fis init #And this insures the partition size is correct
RedBoot: load -r -b 0x80041000 linux.bin
RedBoot: fis create linux
RedBoot: fconfig boot_script true
RedBoot: fconfig boot_script_data
  boot_script_data:
Enter script, terminate with empty line
     >>fis load -l linux
     >>exec
RedBoot: reset

Once it reboots and the WebGUI is available, immediately go to Administration tab and update the firmware to the latest version provided by BS. Use eoc2610-firmware.bin for the update.

Once it reboots, you should be on r50443.
ssh - Works
telnet - Works
syslogd - Works

Optional: Administration tab/reset to defaults. I did not do this.

What else? more later.
Thank you @BrainSlayer !!

A few things to note, and this is probably due to hardware limitations:
- 2.4ghz Channel Width of 20mhz works great!
- 2.4ghz Channel Width of 40mhz and the SSID completely disappears.
- There is no choice of DDWRT vs Vanilla firmware. Probably again due to this hardware being comparable to stone knives and bearskins. Wink
- The GUI is amazingly responsive! Especially considering this is a single core Atheros AR2315 running at a whopping 184mhz! Much better and faster than the earlier versions that I have tried.

Final thoughts so far: Impressive, especially considering the age of this hardware!

And last but not least, @BrainSlayer I see you have removed the Trail and Registration limitation. Pretty awesome even considering how old this h/w is. However, I will happily send a donation for your work on this. Very much appreciated!

if course you need to know how to use redboot commandline before flashing. just fix create linux does not work if the new file is bigger than the old partition. you need to recreate the partition and more important you need to erase is first. the programming error is raised since the block wasnt erased before writing

in 40 mhz the ssid does not disappear. the point is that 40 mhz turbo mode has nothing todo with 40 mhz 802.11n wide channel. its real 40 mhz, and your client must be capable of running turbo mode, otherwise you wont see anything. and i have never seen a 40 mhz turbo mode capable laptop. and even if you install such a card, the windows driver does not operate in 40 mhz too. atheros / qca never allowed any official driver to run such modes in 2.4 ghz.

and for "here is no choice of DDWRT vs Vanilla firmware. "
ahm this chipset has no wifi firmware. its not a 802.11ac card. its a chipset from 2006 which is controled by software and not by any firmware. vanilla and dd-wrt is a chipset firmware used for 802.11ac cards based on ath10k driver.

I suspected it had something to do with this. And yes, RedBoot is still new to me. Still learning it. I was simply following the previously posted instructions. I will research this further.

Now, onto more oddities.

This is extremely weird, and I simply cannot wrap my brain around as to why. I have this WAP connected to a secondary NIC on my Fedora PC. The WAP is on the 192.168.1.1 address while the PC is on 192.168.1.2. This is an entirely different subnet than what my networks are on and the main NIC on this PC. Yet, with my phone connected to it wirelessly, I am getting a valid dhcp address and I have internet access. I have not set the gateways or the DNS servers, etc and as I said, it connected to a secondary NIC on my PC. How the hell is this thing finding a path to the outside world? I am sure it's something simple that my brain logic is missing atm.
