Hi,
On my dd-wrt Netgear R8000 Router, I have both OpenVPN which I can access from a device outside my LAN and separately have a third party VPN enabled through Flashrouters in Staus/My Page.
Problem: If flashrouters VPN is active, openVPN does not work.
Question: Is there a way to have both working simultaneously?

Of course lots of us do that but not with flash routers.
We use the regular OpenVPN client and OpenVPN server or better use WireGuard instead of OpenVPN much easier to setup and much faster (up to three times faster).
OpenVPN and WireGuard guides are a sticky (first few threads) in this forum.
Note to work you need a current build, at least build 52242, latest build as of today is 54475.
The last thing I heard is that flash routers only runs on outdated DDWRT builds but maybe that has changed, ask flash routers, you are paying them and not us
From the FalshRouters website:
Quote:
In order to use the FlashRouters Privacy App you must update to build r48362 or greater. If you would like the fully featured FR Privacy App version with Simple Setup you must use firmware builds from 2/10/20 r42335.
FlashRouters Privacy App works fine with current dd-wrt builds, but if you use any build subsequent to 2/10/20 r42335 you will lose a lot of functionality. Most notably, you lose the "simple Setup" tab which allows, among other things, easy setup of WiFi, guest setup, and also the ability to use policy routing by network, i.e. to exclude certain websites form the VPN, and connections to certain WireGuard sites such as NordLynx.
I wish I knew more about any integration with OpenVPN, but I can't help in this regard.
Still, the FlashRouters Privacy App does allow for easy changes to various VPN servers throughout the globe by simple selection from a drop-down. _________________ - a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle
While I am looking at the guide, I agree with computerperson and that the Flashrouter app on the router works well in terms of choosing countries' VPNs.
So, what the SSH app necessary to do this?
Also, currently with Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r54475 std (12/07/23, I have the important country server functionality.
In your SSH app you can usually add a command to execute when you connect to your router, just execute the script and you can toggle tunnels on and off, see status and log.
