Hi Guys:

Router/Version: Netgear R8500 with DD-WRT v3.0-r54682 std (01/02/24) / Linux 4.4.302-st47
Update method: WebUpgrade
Previous/Reset: r51275 / yes (so, I lost wifi)
Issues/Errors: No wifi if reset to defaults (still there).
Using: OVPN server, Vlan's, Wifi Radios, USB, SAMBA NAS, SSH and port forwarding.

The wifi radio problem is very old on R8500, so, i have to come back to old r38581 to reactivate wifi radios then reflash r54682 without reset to defaults.

Great job, thanks.

Router/Version: TP-Link Archer C9 v1
Update Method: Web upgrade
File/Kernel: Linux 4.4.302-st47 #10790 SMP Tue Jan 2 04:04:33 +06 2024 armv7l
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r54420 std (12/04/23) / no
Mode/Status: Access point (2.4 + 5, IoT VAP), VLAN router, no DHCP/DNS
Issues/Errors: None, up 20 mins.

After seeing the comment in the r54604 build thread about the Archer cv9 v1 failing, thought I would update this AP before trying the primary router/gateway which does DHCP/DNS/WG/... so far it looks good here, but will report if I start seeing issues.

Summary

Because of solely ksmbd problem of build 54905, I came back to this build. Nothing strange so far, both after firmware reboot and cold boot.

New discoveries:

  • Startup (rc_startup) Script stalled and did NOT finish execution
    Code:
    # ps | grep start
     2358 root     startservice_f modules_wait
     2359 root     /sbin/service modules_wait start
     2431 root     {.rc_startup} /bin/sh /tmp/.rc_startup
     2563 root     logger -s -t [2431]: exiting /tmp/.rc_startup

  • mstpd was started even though Spanning Tree was disabled in WEBUI
    Code:
    # nvram show | grep stp
    size: 23901 bytes (41635 left)
    lan_stp=0
    # ps | grep mst
      655 root     /sbin/mstpd
     4610 root     grep mst

  • Every time Unbound was started, a new entry of "ramfs on /etc/unbound type ramfs (rw,relatime)" was added. Stopping Unbound would NOT remove old entries.
