This AP WG302 v2 does not work with any of the 2014 firmwares as they are too big.

The last firmware I could get to load was "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/24/13) - build 23204 "

hi

i now have also an wg302v2.
i flashed the latest working build is 2014-06-23 (7.16 MB)

the >= 20140623 are 7.50MB and up and do not fit into flash.

so it seems 7512064 byte are save.

Code:
RAM: 0x00000000-0x02000000, 0x0001f9e0-0x01fd1000 available
FLASH: 0x50000000 - 0x50800000, 64 blocks of 0x00020000 bytes each.

RedBoot> fis list
Name              FLASH addr  Mem addr    Length      Entry point
RedBoot           0x50000000  0x50000000  0x00060000  0x00000000
RedBoot config    0x507C0000  0x507C0000  0x00001000  0x00000000
FIS directory     0x507E0000  0x507E0000  0x00020000  0x00000000

will open a ticket on this (http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5119#ticket)

has this got any easier? i got a couple seriel to ps2 adapters and a ps2 cable. but i am not really up on all this lingo. when you say console i assume you talking about the access point (wg302v1). kinda hoping that this all could be done with the online flash file. the purpose for my wanting dd-wrt is to make the access point an ap client or a virtual wifi adaptor. just wishful thinking i suppose. seeing how this is 7 years old and the version of files available are different.

any responce will be helpful even if it is to tell me off lol thx

[quote="Shaz"]Just got my hands on one of these AP's. Found some stuff that might help others. To answer pic.micro23 you need to find the start of your free memory address. When you CTRL-C into the console look for
Code:

RAM: 0x00000000-0x10000000, 0x0001f9b8-0x0ffd1000 available

Whatever is in the spot '0x0001f9b8' you need to use as your starting memory address. That was mine.

Now my setup in using this firmware - I have a WG302v1.

Before continuing be sure to reset your AP to default settings

The Setup:

First you will need a Null modem cable to connect to the console. DB9 Female on both ends. Google it.

Connect a Ethernet cable to the ap from your computer and set your IP address as 192.168.0.36

Download the latest version of v24 pre sp2 from brainslayers directory. Here

Install a TFTP client and place linux.bin in its default download directory. Download

Start up hyper terminal and set it to default settings. Connect to the ap with the null modem cable and start listening.

Unplug the ap and plug back. Once plugged back in hit ctrl+c until you get the redboot console.

Make sure your tftp server is started before proceeding.

In the terminal:

1. fis init -f
1a. Answer 'y'

NOTE: 0x01600000 is what I found netgear to be using when installing there own firmware.

2. load -b 0x01600000 -m tftp -h 192.168.0.36 -r linux.bin
3. fis create linux
4. fconfig
4a.When prompted to type a script for bootup type:

fis load -b 0x01600000 linux <press enter>
exec 0x0160004c <press enter, then enter again to finish>

4b. press enter to the rest of the options
5. reset

Disconnect from hyper terminal and setup a new session with a 115 baud rate so the text is readable.

Now you should see it started a wifi connection. Connect to it. Go to 192.168.1.1. What a trial? All things don't come free.

So we made it. From standard crappy netgear firmware to all out pro dd-wrt firmware. You can now upgrade with the web based firmware you probably saw earlier.

where it says now you should see it started a wifi i am confused. i believe i got the linux.bin file loaded cuz in winagents tftp it shows it successfully downloaded from the server. i guess with the new connection at 115 baud rate you also have to unplug the AP and plug back in or how do you boot it to show the dd-wrt interface? i dunno if i am asking this right feeling like i have come so far lol. please be kind lol.

any direction would be helpful
oh this is a version 1 AP and i did shaz method just not sure how to verify i did it right lol thx in advance. i assume once i pull up the dd-wrt interface is where i will have to enter code showing i paid for it?[/b]
