i flashed a ecb3500 to dd-wrt it went well then i set to dhcp and set it to dhcp relay which i asume is 0.0.0.0 but for some reason it doesnt seem to get an ip from our dhcp server so i tried reflashing it to dd-wrt but it must be keeping the settings somewere or something i also tried to flash it to the newest firmware from engenius website that also didnt work. then i tried the 2 tools in the stickys for redboot ip fixes and those didnt work. also tried the 30-30-30...

any other ideas?

Sorry about the lack of info and the delay.

here is what i did i downloaded the console linux.bin file from the dd-wrt database then i logged into redboot and ran the folowing

ip_address -l 192.168.1.1 -h 192.168.1.11

fis init
load -r -b 0x80041000 linux.bin
fis create linux
fconfig boot_script true
fconfig boot_script_data

fis load -l linux
exec

reset

after i did this i rebooted and it came up perfectly but while i was in there i set the wan interface to dhcp and then set the dhcpd setting to forward dhcp requests but i did not fill in the address box. then i clicked apply and i cant get into it and it is not requesting an ip address. here is what i was wondering what do i need to do to delete everything from redboot and reinstall?

So it is booting dd-wrt i can see the wireless on a laptop but when i connect to it it does not give out any ips. And i have the same issues was the lan/wan port the light on the front is lit up but no ip is assigned is there a way to force the router to enable dhcpd or is there a setting saved that can be erased from within redboot from my first attempt of dd-wrt that i messed up?

sorry but what do u think will hapen if u have one eth port and u enable wan?the eth port will become the wan port. else u can only connect to lan via wifi.
should be logical?!

yes i understand that but the wan port isnt getting an ip so it is not pingable or anything and it also is not allowing the wifi clients to request ips that is what i would like what ever settings it is saving so i can start over from square one but flashing it does not seem to set it back to default plus i need to install my dd-wrt key thats why i was wondering if the setteings for ddwrt are being saved on a seperate file location that is still present after a new flash.

hey Crichardso,
I have done something similar and am stuck with a router i cannot access. I can see Sash has not really provided any real help other than smart remarks. Did you manage to get into your router? Could you share how? I Don't have any idea what the wlan ip address is for the router, it's not dishing out ip's so im up the creek. I have tried all the ways to reset this box with no success, including the 30/30/30. By the way my router is a engenius ECB3500

so does all your lights on the router come on? do you happen to have a laptop or something with a wireless card arround? does a new wireless network showup as ddwrt or maybe needs activation? if so can you join that network and get an ip address? in my case i could see the network called ddwrt but i was not getting an ip because of my settings i mucked up so the thing i did was i staticaly set the ip address on the wireless card to 192.168.1.11 subnet 255.255.255.0 then joined that wireless network and then i could use a web browser to get into the router via 192.168.1.1

hope it helps man

Crihardso,
Thanks for your quick reply. To provide more information, all lights are functioning and I can see the SSID on my laptop. I changed the router IP address to be 192.168.30.3. Everything was working fine until I set the static IP for the internet settings to be the same address. Now I can't access the router via the Ethernet port. I can connect tot he wireless interface however I don't get an IP address assigned as I had set the DHCP server to relay from my smoothwall firewall. I have tried setting my wireless lan address to 192.168.30.30 and then connect tot he router on 192.168.30.3 but it doesn’t connect. I really which I could just reset it to factory default but it doesn’t work. I know I didn't change the option to disable the reset button yet it does not function as it should. I have tried the thirty second hold, also the 30/30/30 method. Sash did sarcastically ask you if you needed help to use the reset button. Well Yes I do Sach. I welcome you to tell me how it is supposed to work!!!
